Big news in the records catagory!! First of all, Brent joins the growing list of players to accumulate 5 hits in a single game, going 5-5 against Integrated Financial! Good job Hoves! The big news is that Shane came out of nowhere to take the record of consecutive games with a hit of 46 games and counting!!! A big pat on the back for you kid! Way to go, and keep it up!

First Entry for the 2005 season! First off, a big welcome Tom and Matt (Beef Jr.) to the Browns! The team went through a bit of a face lift in the off season with John and Karl retiring. Bryan also will not be returning, he leaves the team as the leader in consecutive games with a hit (41). Though the team is a little different this season, I expect more of the same. Work Hard, Hustle, and Heart! "You gotta love these guys!"

It was a big night for Jeff Curtis who belted 2 Grand Slams in one inning which helped him break his own record for RBIs in a game with a total of 10! He also tied the record for most HRs in a game with 3, and came up one short of Dirty's record of 5 straight at bats with a HR. Congrats!

Both games were exciting. Most people probably counted the Browns out when we were down 18-0, but we battled back with 18 runs in the bottom of the 4th to tie it up. However, in the end we came up short by 2 runs. What a great come back!

You can read more about both games on the message board.

The 2003 softball season has come to an end. It somewhat ended on a sour note, but we have nothing to be ashamed of, it was an all around great season! A couple of streaks will be carried over into next season, most notably is Shane who is on a current 8 hit streak, and an on base streak of 11.

I (Karl) intend to work on updating the website with more pictures and maybe a new look with more features. If there is anything that fans or players would like to see added or changed, let me or Drew know.

Everyone have a great off-season and I'll see you all at the awards party. Details for the party will be posted as soon as I find out.

Well, the fall season is under way! The return of Dirty and Shane to full time duty brings back the memories of our first couple of seasons. It's great to have them back! The first game was a win even though it wasn't pretty. Sure our defense was pretty good, but we didn't hit well at all...then there is the exception with J.T. going 3-3 with 2HRs and 6RBI. I know we can do better, especially as the weather begins to cool off. Next week we get our buddies Jake's, I'm sure we will all come to play this time!

You win some, you lose some...The Browns had one of each last night defeating the Raiders 9-8 and losing to Delisi's 12-9. Both games came down to the final inning...a RBI single from Curt in the first game and a walk off HR to give Delisis the win.

Records update: John extends his hitting streak to 21 games while Curtis' streak ends at 10 consecutive at-bats with a hit. Congrats to Chris on becoming the first Brown with 100 runs scored and the second Brown with 100 hits!

Amazing things are going on! Two of Dirty's mighty records have fallen thanks to Curtis' booming bat. Dirty's old record of 7 RBIs in a game now belongs to Curt with 9, and the consecutive at-bats with a hit is now at 10 (and counting).

After a three week layoff because of more rain and the Memorial Day holiday, the Browns were back at it again. This time the tune was a little different. The Browns played great on both defense and offense in BOTH games. Taking a 14-6 victory over rival Jakes to sweep them for the first time in a season. The second game was more of the same, we got down early but the defense stepped up and gave the Browns a chance to get back in it. After a JT 3 run blast, the Browns took the lead and stayed there for a 13-9 victory. Karl added a solo shot, his first carreer home run, in the top of the 6th inning. At 4-2 The Browns are in a groove and looking to improve from their previous best summer league record of 8-10.

Also in the news: Temp tied the Browns record for most walks in a game (3) and Drew finally got his 100 career hit, the first Brown to reach this milestone!

Week 2 gave us a rainout, but the Browns took the field once again last night for games 3&4 at Lighted. The first game started slow, but the Browns rallied to come back and take the lead. It turned out to not be enough in the end when Integrated Financial put together 6 runs in the top of the seventh to take a 4 run lead that could not be overcome.
The second game looked like a different team, going off for 27 Runs...about half of those came in the first inning alone! Defense was superb as usual, taking the Browns to a 27-4 victory over the Raiders!

On another note, John Wagner extended his hitting streak to 17 games, which is the longest current streak for the Browns! The record still stands at 25 by Chris.

April 29, 2003
After week one the Browns are 1-1, losing 1-18 to Alpine Framing/Delisis and defeating arch rivals Jakes 21-4! One dissapointing note to make. The hitting streaks of both Chris Bellm and Drew came to an end in the first game, leaving the Browns record for consecutive games with a hit at 25 by Chris, it was a good run guys!

Everyone should also give a round of applause to Bryan Reymund, for he hit his first ever men's league home run yesterday in the game against Jake's! Way to go Bryan!

Also in the news, Drew is fast approaching 100* career hits! He is sitting at 93 after yesterday's games. He would be the first Brown to reach this mark!

* Stats go back to 2001 Fall Season.
