Q: What nationality are you?
I get this question probably from every person I meet. In high school, it was rumored to spark political debates in the randomest places, including the wrestling team's weight training. I am Malagasy.
Q: What the heck is that?
Malagasy just refers to one who is from Madagascar.
Q: Where is that?
Madagascar is an island off the southeast coast of Africa.
Q: So, were you born there then?
Sadly, not. I was born and raised in upstate New York.
Q: Do you speak the language?
Up until age 4, it was my primary language for communications. Once I hit age 4, that switched over to French. Then at age 5, it switch to English, seeing as I was starting schooling. I was able to retain my French as I grew up. Unfortunately, I can't hold a conversation in Malagasy, but I still understood it decently up until recently. We don't use it enough here for me to get the proper practice I need.
Q: What language do they speak there?
Um...if you weren't paying attention earlier, that would be Malagasy. French is the second official language, however.
Q: Do you ever plan on cutting your hair?
For those who don't know, or haven't seen me in a really long time, my hair goes down to my belt line, and no, I don't plan on cutting it any time soon. Sure, I've thought about it, and one day, I probably will cut it. But for now, it's my trademark. Why would I erase that?
Do you only write poetry?
Nope. I've written almost everything other than a novel: Short story, song lyrics, poetry, music, creative essays (and even non-creative ones at that), skits, and a screenplay in the works.
Q; Are any of them any good?
Maybe. You should e-mail me to get a sample, and leave me constructive criticism.
Q: What else do you do?
Would you believe...nothing? Or everything? Depends how you look at it...
I play a good number of instruments--Flute, piccolo, recorder, pan flute, harmonica, guitar, some piano, violin, some percussion, and I've had extremely limited experience with the mellophone, trumpet, clarinet, and saxophone. I sing too, and those original midis were templates for an original demo that I've had in my projects for a year and a half. But I'm not your typical band geek.
Mostly, I just like to have good, ol' spontaneous fun, whatever that may be.
Q: Don't you give any quick, simple answers?
Not really, no. I'm told I'm very verbose, which has worked in my favor more often than not. I know it's hard to believe...
And then, there was this one time...and it was really funny, but i'd just draw out the story...
Q: Sometimes I get bored and stare at my computer screen just wasting time away throughout the day. The internet can be so boring sometimes. I like my playlist though, so it helps pass the time. There really is no question here, I just felt like making a comment.

About the site
I started this site around the summer of 2003 as a simpler way to send my poems to my friends for criticisms. But, me being the wishful thinker that I am, decided to keep up the site in hopes that maybe I would build up a significant base some day. Any exposure helps me in my dreams, you know.
It started off as a site exclusively for my poetry, but as I've had many other projects worth opening up to feedback, I decided to add whatever I want to it.
Yeah yeah, big deal. But someone is bound to ask.
