EXPLANATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
I decided on a lawn care website because I wanted to make an interactive calendar for the customers to choose available times and days. I successfully made a calendar, but it didn’t turn out as interactive as I had hoped. I also wanted to make interactive pages that had buttons and links to other pages, and to make a flow with the site that provided ease of use for the customer. I believe I have met this goal, with each page leading you to the next, with the final page thanking the customer for their service request.
I learned how to make each page unique with clickable links to other pages, as well as a home button in the header of each page.
DEFENSE OF THE FINAL PROJECT
The overall design of the website is very simplistic, but smooth. I went with rounded edges on my borders, so it seems smooth. Because it is a lawn care business site, I went with a green overall color and a consistent grass background image. I made the image stationary so there wasn’t a background color showing in the bottom or top of the page.
On each of the pages, I used the same center bordered box that contains all the information for that page. I found this to be easy to make, as well as easy for the customer to find all the information they need.
Although the links on each page don’t necessarily save any info or make the end selection any easier to book, having links on each page that forward the customer to the next page will hopefully make it easier to navigate the site.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT AND GROWTH
In the future I would like the calendar to be more interactive. Such as saving the customers choice when they choose it. That would go the same for the rest of the pages. If my site could save all the inputs from the customer throughout their browsing through the site so at the end it would have compiled everything and had it ready to send up, that would be ideal.
But other than that, I am pleased with how my site turned out. It is simple, smooth, aesthetically pleasing, and gets the job done without all the flashy mess.
