Zuckuss comes from the ammonia-laden gas planet of Gand where Bounty Hunting is a time honored tradition. The hunters on Gand, called Findsmen there, were mainly used to capture fugitive criminals and runaway slaves.

The Findsmen were highly superstitious, worshipping the swirling mists of their homeworld. In the gases, the Findsmen could find divine signs and omens, leading them to their pray. Zuckuss was one of the Findsmen.

The Findsmen skills were no longer necessary when the Empire brought it's scanners and technology to Gand. So like a few of his Gand brothers, Zuckuss left the planet to become a Bounty Hunter for the galaxy.

Zuckuss has to wear a special breathing apparatus that supplies him with the gases needed for his species and that keeps harmful oxygen from his system. He adopted battle armor under his heavy cloak, and hung a computer and sensor array on straps around his neck. Helping him to dare any terrain or environment in pursuit of his prey.

Zuckuss can also imitate death. In an oxygen-rich enviroment Zuckuss can shut down all respiration and external vital signs for a couple of minutes. But with a couple miniature cylinders of compressed Ammonia hooked up to the tubes of his breathing apparatus, can go for days. "Its actually kind of relaxing," says Zuckuss.

Due to his elaborate rituals and his intuiting for his quarry's moves, Zuckuss became known as the 'Uncanny One' in the Bounty Hunter trade.

Zuckuss was eventually hired by the Tatooine crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Jabba paired him up with 4-LOM.

Zuckuss's intuition and ability to outguess his opponents worked perfectly in combination with 4-LOM's analytical skills. The two worked together for a significant time, even when Zuckuss suffered a career threatening injury when a human female acquisition ripped off his breath mask and he took reflexive breaths of poisonous oxygen that destroyed his lungs.

They quickly became two of Jabba's favorite hunters. A year after the destruction of the Empire's first Death Star, The Dark Lord of the Sith sent out a call for bounty hunters to find Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon.

Jabba sent Zuckuss and 4-LOM as "non official emissaries" to Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer Executor.

The Bounty Hunting duo knew that the enormous price on Solo's head could purchase Zuckuss new lungs.

They disabled a Rebel transport that was attempting to escape from Hoth and then "rescued" 90 Rebel survivors of the transport, hoping they would be able to infiltrate the Rebellion at their rendezvous point, which Zuckuss discovered in meditation.

Zuckuss and 4-LOM were unable to capture Han Solo before Boba Fett, losing one of the biggest quarries of their careers. Zuckuss made an arrangement through the Rebels to grow new lungs for himself and he and 4-LOM began work as Special Forces operatives for the Rebellion. Zuckuss and 4-LOM were treated like heroes by the Rebellion. Zuckuss went on to continue Bounty Hunting when he got his new lungs. While 4-LOM remained in the Rebellion.

Zuckuss joined the Bounty Hunters Guild, which was at the height of its tension between the older hunters and the younger ones. Before the splitting of the Guild, Zuckuss worked with Boba Fett, IG-88, Bossk, and an old acquaintance of his named D'harhan to go after a large acquisition by the name of Oph Nar Dinnid who was being held by the Shell Hutts. But the vengefull Hutt had set a trap for the team, using Oph Nar Dinnid as bait.

Zuckuss and the other hunters managed to fight their way out of the trap but their acquisition was killed by the Hutt. D'harhan was also thought to be killed by the Hutt's men.

Unknown to everyone else in the group, Zuckuss and been considered an ally of both factions of the Guild (the younger and the older) and had been ordered by Cradossk, Bossk's father and leader of the Guild, to kill Bossk on this hunt. The Gand hunter did not kill Bossk, and was instrumental in the young Trandoshan's trap to kill his father. Zuckuss lied to Cradossk, telling him Bossk was killed by the Hutts. This let Cradossk to believe he was safe and he let his 'guard' down. Cradossk soon found his son was still alive and Bossk killed his father, with Zuckuss watching on.

After the physical breakup of the Guild, Zuckuss joined the newer faction who called themselves The Guild Reform Committee and worked secretly with Boba Fett to capture Trhin Voss'on't, a supposedly rogue stormtrooper. Fett teamed up with Bossk to captured Voss'on't, and when Bossk attempted to capture Fett in his own ship, Zuckuss stepped from the shadows to stop the Trandoshan. But not wanting to share the enormous bounty on the stormtrooper, Fett got a hold of Zuckuss's weapon and put both Zuckuss and Bossk in an escape pod. And then launched them out into space.

Zuckuss is now for hire as a single Bounty Hunter or as a team with 4-Lom.
