Greedo came from the planet Rodia in the Tyrius star system. Greedo and his family were part of the Rodian Clan, known as the Tetsus. This clan was considered one of the most peaceful of the Rodian clans.

Rodians consider Bounty Hunting an honored profession and a fabulous sport. Prizes are awarded to the Hunter with the most captures or kills. The only dishonorable thing that the Hunters could do is to "pad" a catch. 'Padding' a catch means to let the Bounty rack up more crimes in order to higher his wanted Bounty price. The Rodian Council of Justice disapproves of such acts.

When a war broke out, Greedo's Bounty Hunter father was murdered by the Chattza clan leader, Navik The Red, and the family was robbed blind by the other clans. Neela, the father's pregnant wife, took three-year old Greedo and left the planet with her older brothers, Nok and Teeku, along with other members of the Tetsus clan. They fled the planet Rodia in three large silver spaceships.

They relocated to an isolated jungle world -name unknown- and began a new peaceful life, shunning the occupation of Bounty Hunter which was once prized by them

When Greedo was fifteen, he and his younger brother, Pqweeduk, discovered the three silver spaceships hidden in a mountain cavern. They asked their mother, Neela, about them. She told them the violent tale of his father's death. And how each member of the Tetsus clan were still wanted dead by the other clans.

About a month later, Navik The Red, tracked the Tetsus clan to the jungle world. And his clan started killing the Tetsus clan.

ON NAR SHADDAA

Greedo, Pqweeduk, Neela, Nok, Greedo's two uncles, and twenty other clan members escaped in the two ships that were hidden in the cave. The third ship was destroyed on the ground. Nok piloted the clan to the port moon of Nar Shaddaa, where the Tetsus clan began a new life (again) in the Correlian sector.

Greedo grew to be an adult, learning petty theft and black-market tactics. He worked with his brother in the bustling districts of Level 88. One day, Greedo witnessed two Bounty Hunters, Spurch "Warhog" Goa and Dyyz Nataz, killing a rouge Imperial spice inspector. But then the two Hunters were attacked by a cyborg named Gorm The Dissolvers. Greedo popped out from his hiding place and shot Gorm in the back.

When the pair cut Greedo in on the Imperial Bounty from the Imperial spice inspector, he decided to help them by tipping them off to a cluster of small Rebels hiding in another part of Level 88. The same level his family was living at the time. The Hunters sold this information to the Empire.

With the Imperial reward, Greedo planned to buy an Incom corsair ship from the mechanic Shug Ninx. He planned to call it the Manka Hunter. While he was inspecting his ship-to-be, Greedo coundn't resist stealing a new pair of Dekk-6 power couplings. Unfortunately for him, he was caught by Chewbacca. The Dekks were for the Millenium Falcon. When Han Solo took his rancor-skin jacket as restitution, a hatred sparked in Greedo. Greedo told Solo someday he would kill him.

Meanwhile, two Chattza clan Rodians, Thuku and Neesh, hired Spurch Goa to eliminate Greedo But when Goa meet up with Greedo, he told Greedo that he would teach him the art of Bounty Hunting, for a price.

That price was the credits from Greedo's Imperial reward. Greedo knew he could get more money to buy the Manka Hunter at a later date, so he became Warhog Goa's apprentice.

When the Empire attacked the rebels on Level 88, the fighting was intense. Greedo barely escaped with Goa and Dyyz in their ship, the Nova Viper, before an entire quarter of Level 88 exploded in a flash. Greedo realized with a heavy heart that his family was dead, and he was responsible.

ON TATOOINE

The trio of Hunters fled to Tatooine, where Goa and Greedo were hired by Jabba the Hutt. Jabba was fond of Rodain Hunters cause they were ruthless, worked cheaply, and they always made great rancor food when he tired of them.

Greedo believed working for Jabba would be a perfect way for him to increase his status and power as a Bounty Hunter. The first Bounty Hunting Job that Jabba gave Greedo, was to collect the Bounty on Han Solo's head. Greedo was excited, he could finally get his revenge on the Corellian.

Greedo knew if he could get the credits out of Solo, then kill the smuggler, Greedo would be paid twice for the one bounty.

Greedo cockily approached Han Solo in the Mos Eisley spaceport demanding Jabba's money. Solo easily brushed him off however. The next day, with Spurch Goa as his backup, Greedo waited for Solo in Chalmun's cantina. As the Rodian seated himself, there was a disturbance at the bar; an old man using a lightsaber had attacked an Aqualish and an ugly humanoid. When Chewbacca escorted the old man and a fresh-faced farm boy to Solo's table, Greedo grew more nervous.

Two stormtroopers walked through the bar, and as they left, Greedo noticed that Solo and Chewbacca were alone. Then Chewbacca got up and left. Greedo quickly went to Solo's table, blaster down. The Rodian again demanded the credits Han owed Jabba. Sure of himself, the Rodian kept his blaster trained on Solo, who seemed remarkably unafraid. The Corellian's smug attitude angered Greedo and he fired a shot at Solo. But he missed high and Han Solo shot a blaster from under the table, hitting Greedo in the midsection and killing Greedo instantly.

Spurch Goa, Greedo's backup, simply watched the death and then collected his Bounty from Thuku and Neesh, the two Chattza clan Rodians who had paid him to kill 'now' the last member of the Tetsus clan.

At this time, Wuher, the bartender got a fiendishly clever idea. He recovered Greedo's body and took it below to the cellar, where he and his new droid, C2-R4, used the Rodian's flesh and blood in their still. The result was one of the most powerful pheromonal drinks Wuher had ever tasted. The bartender was sure that Jabba the Hutt would pay handsomely for the drink. If Wuher could have withstood the intense flavor, he of had a second drink to salute Greedo, 'the greatest tasting Rodian Bounty Hunter of all time.'

Although uncredited, Greedo was portrayed by Diana Sadley in Star Wars.
