What
am I?
Four riddles
this creature
Unto our earth bestows:
I am the
great gargantuan's maw
Silence I spurn and noise adore
My command is flame; the heavens yield
To crimson rain on valley, field
While darkness grips the land in pain
I rest once more till I speak again
What am I?
This giant
empowers in me his fists
To split asunder the salty mists
My element is life yet death I bring
Upon the naked shores that ring
of silent screams as I draw near
To mourn my own with a ruler's tear
What am I?
This colossal
king his breath I am
Whispers across a land condemned
Then I rise in the furor of raven wings
As thunder purrs and snarls and sings
And lightning-stricken, rain-swept dreams
Snuggle deeper beneath moonbeams
What am I?
Now the footsteps
of this almighty god
Borne not from hatred of those I've trod
Yet still I continue - the mountains I grind
Across the drifting world to find
A place of darkness, of tranquil peace
When Earth's forces have finally ceased
What, now, am I?
