That Katharine Hepburn died...there will never be anyone else like her

Being such a freakin'  slow blogger...

Worrying about early onset Alzheimers from not being able to remember things such as the name of the strange little space penguin which is a spinoff of Hello Kitty

The fact that Bush does not get called on enough of his misstatements

Having to hear someone say grace before a meal in an extended fashion, applying it to the diners' specific fact scenario (My late grandfather could do this well, so that it did not grate on me... But usually it is like listening to someone who made up their own vows at a wedding... yet, at same time must ask self, what kind of person criticizes the way someone says grace?)

having to admit that when it comes right down to it, if I ever move, I have to take no fewer than 10 cats with me...

the fact that my kindly next-door neighbor moved  -- she would always take care of my cats when I went on vacation

the fact that my next-door neighbor got me to take one of her cats (and Oscar sprays)

Still saddened that my (former) next-door neighbor did not give me her new number... True, we were not exactly friends, but we did have each other's housekeys (for purposes of mutual cat care, and so I had a backup for when I lock myself out)...

Catboxes... I keep 5 going... 3 of them in the room with the computer.

TV show "Friends." What a pathetic "Seinfeld" wannabe...

The fact that the Iranian conjoined twins, Ladan and Laleh Bijani, did not survive their operation. I am still chalking up their desire to undergo such risky surgery to hope and courage (and maybe youthful inability to believe that they could really die)but Sarah thinks they took the risk because they would have rather died than continue to live that way... Now THAT is depressing.

Lawrence v. Texas, which finally wiped out that loogie in the eye of human dignity, Bowers v. Hardwick

That Bush finally got in a little trouble for putting false info into his State of the Union address

STEAK.

Taoyan, so much lighter and less klutzy a snuggler than some of my cats, who flomp right on one's bladder or step with all their weight on one's chest. Also silkiest and cutest... facially, resembles a cat drawn by Chuck Jones, with dimples

Hitchcock movie
Stage Fright. Marlene Dietrich plays villainess and sings suggestively while flomping on a chaise longue, "I'm the Laziest Gal in Town" (too lazy to put out, that is). Our spiritual leader!!!

The yup-foods available from Your Dekalb Farmers Market (pesto, gazpacho, butternut squash ravioli, pretentious and tasty olives of many lands)... Sarah often says that I spend way too much money on food.  Perhaps. But after the culinary nightmare that was childhood...  navy bean soup... dried-out porkchops... boiled okra(!!!), pretentious and tasty yupfoods = therapy... (Just teasing, mom!! You know I do not cook any better!!)

Getting one last unexpected email from my dad & fam in Kiribati! Their beautiful home island Marakei does not have any phones, let alone an internet cafe... so they can only email from the capital island, Tarawa, when they take a trip to buy supplies (or transact with the fearsome and seldom open Bank of Kiribati, see their lawyer about when a certain deadbeat religious organization is going to pay up, and/or visit Etita when she has a break from school).

Spanish flim
Intacto, about some high-stakes gamblers who bet on on things like which-gambler's-head-will-the-praying-mantis-land-on, and have (or believe they have -- unreliable narrative!) the ability to steal other people's luck.

Harry Potter finally gets mad and gets attitude in Order of the Phoenix. About frickin' time! He was about as believable as Oliver Twist before...

I stopped getting all those recorded phone messages trying to sell me burial insurance!!
