She had nothing to do this summer. She looked up at the TV. and tried to find something to watch but nothing she liked was on. She turned it off and walked to her bedroom. She turned on the CD player to #5, which was her favorite one. Ill never get tired of my Dream Street CD. At least I can count on it to keep me from totally being bored said Rachel to herself. She flopped down on her bed. There was nothing to do! She looked at her awards shelf. She had a lot of dancing awards since she did tap, ballet, and junior dancing since she was 4. She smiled as she remembered the fun she had and all the friends she made. She still did dance but they had their summer break to. As the song Sugar Rush stopped, she turned it to I Say Yeah with her remote. She kept looking at the trophies she had. She looked at her modeling school certificate. She had been the 2nd best in her class that graduated. Rachel loved sports but her most favorite was basketball and she had been playing it since she was 7. {Did I mention that Rachel is 14??} Then on the last shelf were her school awards. She had been the best singer in her group for 3 years along with her best friend Morgan and they loved it. Of course she still made the A+B honor roll. Her birthday had only been a few days ago. I love being 14. Even though I have more chores and bigger responsibilities, she stated. Suddenly the phone rang. Rachel paused her CD and answered Hello? The voice on the other line asked Hi is Rachel there? Rachel recognized this voice yes this is she. Oh hi Rachel this is Morgan stated Rachels friend and only neighbor. I never knew, said Rachel jokingly. Since Rachel lived with her parents in the woods she only had 1 neighbor. Morgan was 14 and she also loved Dream Street. Morgan favorite boy on Dream Street was Chris but for Rachel, Chris was second favorite. Morgan asked, How is your summer so far? Well if you asked me, summer is pretty boring so far even though weve only been out for a week, answered Rachel. Nothing exiting here either. Brittany is being a real pain today said Morgan. Well I went on the Internet today and saw this new Dream Street website. Ill tell you the name of it tomorrow cause I got to go eat dinner said Rachel noticing the time. You know with my job at Universal I often have to travel started her Mom. Rachel asked Ya I know, why? Well your mother has to go on a trip to New York for a month or longer. Since its so long and youre out of school. Her father looked at her Mother. Ive decided to take you with me said her Mother with a smile. And they offered 3 other tickets for free since its so long her Mom continued. Rachels brown eyes widened You mean were going to New York? Cool! But wait youre all ready going and we only have me and dad so who is the 3rd ticket for? Well dear, we thought you could take a friend. But our flight was full so whoever is coming would have to go a week later stated her Dad. (Wait a minute something important is in New York Rachel thought. But what) Rachel suddenly gasped. I know! Dream Street lives in New York! The Next Day She packed while she listened to her CD. {You can guess which one} Rachel suddenly thought of something. I guess I better call Morgan and tell her whats going on and about the surprise. Guess this might not be a normal, boring summer after all she smiled as she remembered last night. When she got up to call her, the phone rang. Hello? Hi Rach its me Morgan. Brittany is like making me do all the work and she will probably NEVER repay me, she said in the most boring and mad kind of tone possible. Anyway, anything new for you? Well, nothing much except I just got told after dinner last night that we are going on a little short trip to somewhere now Rachel was smiling, desperately trying to control her laughter in excitement. Oh nowhere specialjust New York Rachel said with a little laughter but luckily she turned away from the phone so Morgan didnt here her. Oh thats cool. All right well how about Trousdale? Morgan gasped and yelled {practically breaking the phone} Dream Street!!! No Barney lives there Rachel said now bursting out with laughter. Oh and 1 little, tiny, non important thing youre coming with us even if you dont want to and Im sure you dont. I dont want to go? Only when pigs fly and dogs speak every language in the world that youre going to New York, she said not believing her 5%. Well Im going and you ARE coming with me now she was laughing until she ran out of breath and her face was as red as a tomato from laughing so hard. Morgan was screaming with excitement. Dont run into the door said Rachel sarcastically. She heard Morgan saying Mom and Dad could I ask you a small question. Sure what is it? Asked her mom and dad with a smile. Um may I please please please PLEASE go to New York with Rachel? Well, o.k. her mom and dad said. Oh Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Morgan said! Morgan got back on the phone and said, I think you may have heard the conversation!! Ya oh ya thanks for breaking my eardrums Rachel said sarcastically. Sure anytime when you tell me that kind of news. Oh and you were going a week later but Rachel started but was soon interrupted. Me going a week later then you?! No way! Exclaimed Morgan in a mad tone. Well, I was going to say before someone interrupted me was, some weird guy changed his flight to your ticket so pack tomorrow for at least 3 months or so said Rachel, now continuing to pack and turned on her CD player again to number 4 which is Gotta get the girl and the lead singer was by her favorite boy in Dream Street which is Jesse. Well thankfully I went shopping the other day and my parents got me what they said was a late birthday present it was 2 new cool pares of white jeans and 2 shirts for some reason Morgan said thoughtfully. But anyway I have now packed for 3 and a half months is that good enough? Morgan said. Plenty enough I believe she said talking in an accent to annoy Morgan. {It works in real life to} I packed for 3 and a half months also. You also have to pack your carry on bag to have on the plane said Rachel. OK said Morgan. You are spending the night right, because we have to get up at 3:30 in the morning.
