This Hudson family is well represented in Dry Fork Church history and there are thirty eight Hudson burials in the cemetery. Part of the Hudson family lived "across the creek" ( Cedar Creek ) in Boone County.
There are a number of Hudson family researchers and this page is designed only to provide a small bit of information about the founding families and used a a guide line. Additional information will be added:

Henry Moss Hudson d. Jan. 31, 1872 age 54 years, 4 months 21 days. (10 Sept 1817 birthdate) (born Halifax Co., VA)
Harriett E. Crank Hudson, wife of Henry Moss, Dec. 12, 1825 -March 26, 1865 ( 39 yrs 3 mos 14 days ))

Parents of Harriet Crank Hudson:
Henry Frank Crank b. 24 Apr 1794 in Louisa County, Virginia, died 9 Feb 1845 in Callaway Co., MO - (son of William Crank Sr. b. 18 Sep 1772 in Virginia and Tabitha Poindexter b. 1775 in Louisa County, Virginia. )
married 12 Jan 1823 to Rebecca Kent b. 5 Sep 1794 in Pittslyvania County, Virginia, )
both buried at Dry Fork Church Cemetery.

Harriett Crank married first on 18 Mar 1841 in Callaway Co., MO to James L.Gibbs ( refer: Callaway County Marriages) and had:

History of Callaway Co, MO Pages 890-891 notes, "Thomas H. HUDSON and Mary CRANK moved to Missouri in 1837.
The same history says that a Henry HUDSON and wife, Harriett CRANK, of Halifax Co, VA, moved to Missouri in 1828.

Transcript of Will of Peter Hudson, SR
(Halifax County, Va Will Book 6, pages 605-606, dated 20 Mar 1803)

In the name of God amen I Peter Hudson of Halifax County, and State of Virginia, being in my perfect sound ...and memory, but not knowing the hour of death as the appointed one for all men to dy, do make this my last will and testament in manner form as herewith. Item I give to five of my children, five shillings each, to witt, Susannah Holland, Tabatha Womack, Sarah Vasser, Charles Hudson, and Peter Hudson. Item I give to my son Greif Hudson and Patty Owen one cow and calf each--Item I give to my loving wife Mourning Hudson all my estate real and personal, during her life, after my just debts are paid, and after her death, I give to my son William Hudson, the tract of land whereon I live, containing one hundred and twenty acres more or less and all my personal estate to him and his heirs forever. I now conclude with .... my body to the earth to be decently buried, at the discretion of my wife Mourning Hudson, and son William Hudson. Lastly I do appoint my loving son William Hudson ...to my estate, hoping he will serve ... and truly.
Witness my hand and seal this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & three.

At a Court held for Halifax County the 27th of February 1804
The within written last will and Testament of Peter Hudson deceased was exhibited in Court, and proved by the oath of two of the witnesses therein subscribed--and directed to be recorded--And on the motion of William Hudson the executor therein named who made oath according to Law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining probate therein in due form, He giving security- Whereupon he together with Grief Hudson and Daniel Owen his securties, entered into, and acknowledged their bond in the penealty of one thousand dollars--conditioned as the Law directs

Hudson, William J. from Providence Church, Harriet Hudson, Mary Hudson , Sarah Hudson.
William J. Hudson is probably the same as William G. Hudson mentioned in church minutes in 1850.
