"On September 24, 1847, at a meeting being held at the school house in the neighborhood of William Cranks a number of Brethren to be constituted into a church.

Brother George Maupin, Brother Charles Branham, Brother Robert Brandon, chosen as a committee to instruct and form a place to build a meeting house on the East side of the Parish (Paris) road near the widow Crank's property line.
