Bryan and Rose-1874
CLATTERBUCK, Reuben Clatterbuck, of VA., settled first in
Shelby Co., KY., and removed from there to Callaway Co., MO. in
1826. His children were John, Leroy, James, Cageby, Richard,
William, Nancy and Caroline. John married MARTHA REYNOLDS. Leroy
married MARY GRAY. James married PERMELIA HOWARD. Cageby married
MARGARET HOWARD. Richard married ANNA REYNOLDS. William married
CAROLINE LAFORD. Nancy married REUBEN GERDON, and Caroline
married GEORGE W. GRIFFIN. All of the above settled in Callaway
and adjoining counties.

From the Minutes:
August 1849, Brother R. Brandon was to purchase a dozen window panes and putty to put them in. Brother G. Watson, J. Clatterbuck and Brother Branham were appointed a committee to visit the spring school house and other places around the meeting house; suspect persons having spirits for sale on Sunday, a day of public worship, and deal with them accordingly. (Spirits as used by them, is liquor.) A letter of dismissal called for by Brother John Clatterbuck was granted.
July 1852. Brother A. Clatterbuck charged with getting drunk, confessed and asked forgiveness and promised not to drink any more spirits. The church forgave him and felt willing to bear him in their prayers,
November 1861, Brother Reynolds and Brother Brandon appointed to wait on Cagy Clatterbuck and to know why he holds his letter out of the church. Brother J. Holt and J. Clatterbuck appointed to wait on Brother Zumwalt for November attendance
Cagy Clatterbuck returns his letter December 1861 and was received.

Reuben Clatterbuck, Pvt., Revolution, d. 12 Oct
1838 married 1782-3 Caroline Co. VA to Martha (Patsy)
Griffin,dau. of Roy Griffin and Elizabeth Gates [nee Geter], and
sister of Leroy Griffin, who at one time lived at Maysville, KY.
In Caroline Co., he lived 2 miles from Port Royal, near Mount
Church and near the Rappahannock River.
Reuben and Martha had 10 children, (3 dead by 1846,names unk):
John, Leroy, James, Cagely (sic), Richard, William, Nancy Darten.

Reuben was the son of Richard (Dick) Clatterbuck, and born in
Caroline Co. VA 1755. In 1776 he was in Capt. Phillip Buckness'
Co., Col. Phillip Johnston's Regiment. In the fall of 1776 a
little over 3 months in Col. Mathew's Reg. In 1781, 3 mo's under
Maj. Peyton Stern, in the engagement at Gloucester VA, after
which he guarded the prisoners taken at the surrender of
Cornwallis [Yorktown, VA].
In 1810 he moved to Shelby Co. KY.; Oct 1829 he relocated to
Callaway Co., MO, where he died 12 Oct, 1838.
