Brandon, Robert , who died March 8, 1874 aged 85 years, 8 mo 23 days was the son of:

Robert Brandon
was born on 13 Jun 1788 in Halifax Co., Virginia, the son of
Sarah Lee Scott ( Sarah was born on 16 Jan 1766 in Caswell Co,
NC., died on 30 Jun 1818 in Halifax Co, Va.) and Francis Brandon
II, ( Revolutionary War soldier) son of Francis Brandon and
Elinor Richmond,. Francis was born on 16 May 1756 in Halifax Co,
Va. He died on 9 Aug 1842 in Halifax Co, Va. They married on 18
Dec 1785 in Caswell Co, NC. The children of Sarah and Francis
were: William, Robert, Sarah, John, Jesse, Elizabeth, Annis,
Rebecca, Martha, Francis, Amy, Catherine, Mary and Dicey.

on the National Historic Register, location is 500 ft. W of jct.
with VA 696, Alton. Period of Significance: 1800-1824, 1825-1849,
1850-1874 ( building by Robert Day, ) [ The architectural design
was provided by Thomas Day. ]
Halifax County, VA. " On Sept. 30 1788, a will written by Francis Brandon, which states he gives his son Francis Brandon (Jr.) 112 acres of land adjoining Nathaniel Cunningham and James Dials, and in the same will he also gives to his son, Francis, 40 pounds cash which .due me on a bond."
Robert married (1) Mary Jane Holt "Jane", daughter of Timothy Holt and Elizabeth Chambers, on 10 Jan 1811 in Halifax Co, Va. Jane was born on 12 Feb 1790 in Halifax Co, Va. She died on 2 Feb 1858 in Calloway Co, Mo and was buried in Feb 1858 in Dry Fork Cemetery New Bloomfield, Mo.
Robert and Jane Holt Brandon came to Callaway County in the early 1830's, he held a forty acre patent, issued in November 14, 1835 from the Fayette land office, and another forty acre patent, document # 13607, issued at the Fayette land office January 10, 1840.Robert and Jane had the following children:
1.Abner Holt Brandon was born on 30 Oct 1811 in Halifax Co, Va. He died on 28 Nov 1882 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried on 28 Nov 1882 in Dry Fork Cemetery Callaway Co, Mo.
1.Abner married Sarah Zumwalt on 22 Jul 1866 in Callaway Co, Mo. Sarah was born on 30 Jun 1827.
She died on 2 Aug 1894 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Aug 1894 in Dry Fork Cemetery Callaway Co, Mo.
Elizabeth Jane Brandon was born in 1837. She died on 8 Mar 1874.
Elizabeth married Thomas H Renoe on 17 Jan 1855.
Smith married (2) Eliza Ann Reynolds, daughter of John Reynolds, on 19 Feb 1846 in Callaway Co, Mo. Eliza was born on 20 Jan 1828 in Callaway Co, Mo. She died on 8 Jan 1903 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Jan 1903 in Dry Fork Cemetery New Bloomfield, Mo. Children of Eliza Ann Reynolds- she married again to Fillmore G. Vaughn and had six children.

3.Sarah Pane Brandon married John F.Holt, November 4, 1835 in Callaway County. John F. Holt was the 4th son of Abner Holt and Elizabeth Brooks, also of Halifax County, VA. he was born in TN. About ten years before they came to Callaway County. Sarah was born on 18 Feb 1816 in Halifax Co, Va. She died on 11 Mar 1872 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Mar 1872 in Old Prospect Methodist Episcopal Cemetery. He died on 25 Apr 1895 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Apr 1895 in Old Prospect Methodist Episcopal Cemetery. Their children:
4.Francis Brandon was born on 20 Nov 1819 in Halifax Co, Va. He died on 27 Dec 1890 in Fulton Callaway Co, Mo. ( He was Mayor of Fulton )
Francis married (1) Anne Catherine Bennett, daughter of John Bennett and Susanna Holt, on 15 Dec 1841 in Callaway Co, Mo. Anne was born in May 1823. She died in 1867 in Fulton Callaway Co, Mo. Their children:

Fannie was born in 1864. She died in 1934 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in 1934 in Old Prospect Cemetery Callaway Co, Mo.
5. Charles Hampton Vaughn was born on 29 Jan 1858 in Callaway Co, Mo. He died on 31 Oct 1936 in Cedar City Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Oct 1936 in Hart Hill Cemetery.
6. Laura Elizabeth Vaughn was born on 24 Jul 1860 in New Bloomfield Calloway Co, Mo. She died on 28 Apr 1947 in Kansas City, Mo Jackson Co and was buried in Apr 1947 in Green Lawn
Elizabeth also married (2) James Alexander Henderson, son of David Henderson Jr, on 5 Feb 1867 in Callaway Co, Mo. James was born on 1 May 1811 in Tennessee. He died on 13 Jan 1890 in Callaway Co, Mo and was buried in Jan 1890 in Concord Cemetery. They had the following child:
James David Henderson, born 1869, died 1891.

Eliza was born on 1 Oct 1805. She died on 8 Mar 1874 in Calloway Co, Mo and was buried in Mar 1874 in Dry Fork Cemetery at New Bloomfield. Her obituary said:
Robert died on 8 Mar 1874 in Calloway Co, Mo and was buried in Mar 1874 in Dry Fork Cemetery New Bloomfield, Mo. He fought in War of 1812 in Norfolk, Va 1812-1813. The 1860 census shows him with 13 slaves.

Eliza Dozier- age 43 as HOH born in Virginia with all others born
in MO., - William age 14, James A. age 12, Amanda 10, Robert T
08, Nancy 06, and Sarah A. 04.
