| We will provide you with several different patterns and times, but to be an affective drum major you must watch other drum majors in your area conduct. Remember: There is not one right way to conduct. You need to watch others and come up with your own style. DMA hopes to soon have access to conducting tapes for members. As a drum major, the audience watches you conduct and they may think that is all a drum major does, but a lot more goes into being the drum major than just conducting. It takes time, patience, ability, knowledge, leadership, and more. We'll help you become a better drum major and more involved in your community. |
| There are three basic times that you will conduct: 4/4 (common time), 2/4, and 3/4 |
