Gohan is the son of Goku.
His mom wants him to be a scholar but he is too much like his father.
He always was powerful because he had a hidden power inside him. Piccolo helped him develop it but Cell's acts of hate released it. Gohan is a very powerful half-saiyan half-human who when his friends are in danger releases his awesome power. After the Cell game, his power lvl does not increase much because he follows his mom's wish to become a scholar.
