Backyard Rainbows

Early morning before diamond dew fades--
a sparkling array of treasure.

Ruby tulips, emerald grass.
Pearl clouds inlaid on turquoise sky
Amethyst violets in jade leaves
Gold daffodils, ivory snowdrops

Milkweed, torn, floats on the breeze
Pink-white blossoms rival bottled fragrance
