This is my mother and her

husband. Without my mother,

everything that you are

reading, would not

EXIST!

Hey mom! I wrote this poem

just for you to find on this

site!

My mother, My friend

My mother is a wonder

She's always there for me

My mother grew me up

And then she set me free.

Growing up,

I looked up to her ways.

Thinking to myself

I'll be like her

One of these days.

She went to school full time

And worked full time too

Had me there by her side

All alone, it was all she could do.

I have such respect for her

To be there through thick and thin

When a lot of times people leave

And to her it's only just to begin

A new way, another open door

There will be something this way

She would say

As there was not before.

Always giving hope

Making me stand tall

Shoulders back and smile

It will get better in a while.

Everything happens for a reason

This is what she'd say

Another month, another new season

Yesterday it was spring

It is summer today.

The sun is shining

The moon will be bright

The world will not stop

If everything is not just right.

So keep your chin up

And go forward full force

Do the very best that you can do

Because what would be my life choice

If I did not have YOU.

Mom, I love you and look up to you

and respect you for all that you are.

All my friends wished that you

were their mom when I was growing up.

I knew even then, even through

my teenage years, that they were

right. Even when I said that

I hated you, I really meant in my

heart that you are smart. You are so

strong. You are so wise. And you

really DO know it all. I really meant

that I hope I can be just like you

one day.

I'm not.

There is no one that can compare.

All I can do is hope that

my own three children will

have the same love and respect

for me that I have for you

one day.

I love you, mom!

MOM'S HUSBAND!

I HOPE YOU DANCE!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,

You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger

May you never take one single breath for granted

GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean

Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens

Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance, I hope you dance

I hope you never fear the mountains in the distance

Never settle for the path of lease resistance

Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'

Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'

Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter

When you come close to sellin ' out reconsider

Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance...I hope you dance

I hope you dance...I hope you dance

(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along

Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder

where all those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean

Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens

Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Dance. I hope you dance

I hope you dance...I hope you dance

I hope you dance...I hope you dance

(Time is a wheel in constant motion always pushing us along

Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder

where all those years have gone)

Back to the dirt
