One day Josh and Rob was hanging out and heard an add on the radio for the Ironton Ironmasters Battle of the Bands. Everyone thought it would be kool to play in a Battle of the Bands so we went and signed up for it. We reahearsed alot for it. Then it came time to play it. We was scheduled to play at 12:30pm. We were the second band to play. All of us were a little nervous. The band that played before us was really good. Then came time for us to play. The song we opened with was Song for the parents of disgruntled children, then we went into Jack in the box, and closed with Who I am. The responce was great, but there was alot of very talented bands there. The day was long and the bands were great. We watched the bands and went home because they were not gonna announce who one till the next day on the radio at noon. We got up and listened to who one and we got third place over about 20 bands in the tri state area, we were all very excited about it because we knew we were starting to get recognized. After that we started to look for shows at the bars in Huntington,WV. We found a place called Cell Block G and talked to the owner and set up a show. We rehearsed for the show really hard because we were scheduled to play friday and saturday night. Then came time to play the show there was a alot of people there and we were very nervous. The first night we opened the show with Rise to the occasion. The show was a whole lot of fun. Perry the bouncer of the club loved our music. He was a really big guy. Perry was into the music hard core. He would get to into the music so much that he would run into the walls and put big holes in them. That night was very kool. We went home and left our equipment there. The next night we was to go on at 9:00 pm. We showed up to do another sound check. It was all ready to rock. Around 7:00pm people started to roll in. There was a really big outcome that night. The place was full and we were very pumped about the show. It came time to play and we opened up with Dead men tell no tales. People went crazy. They loved us. Our stage presence was very energetic. There was a great connection between us and the crowd. After every song we would hear the roar of the audience. Perry was really into it that night. He would inhale the fog from that fog machine and let it out and it looked crazy but it was very kool. He put a few more holes in the wall that night as well. We have alot of respect for Perry. He was one of our first true fans. The show was great, after the show so many people came up and asked if we had a cd they could buy. So thats when we decided to go to the studio and record an album. We went on the search for a studio. There were so many studios to chose from and we wanted to pick the right one cause we planned on spending alot of money. After a while we finally found one in Lexington, KY called Wakefire Studios. They said that they had worked with singed bands. They were expensive but it was great studio. We all rehearsed very hard for that event. Every one of us was really nervous. We also had to get loan from the bank to help pay for the recording. We were also very nervous because we had to have the whole album recorded in 4 days Rob had the idea that one of his good friends James Scaggs who was a airbrush artist could really make a kool cd cover, because we all knew about his work and it is great. So we went and proposed the offer. James was kool about it and accepted it. We talked a while about what to have for an album cover for a while and came up with a few ideas but nothing that really clicked. Then James just said it's gonna be called Disgruntled Children right, we said yeah, then he said, i'll just paint a couple of disgruntled looking kids pulling a half naked woman down the street. We said that would be kool. He painted it in about 20 minutes. So thats how we came up with the album cover.
