2:135 “ And they said: ‘ Be a Jew or a Christian, you will be

guided.*’ Say (O’ Prophet!): ‘ Guided is the Millat (nation) of

Ibrahim (only); he (Ibrahim) was devoted (to Allah only), and

that he was not from Mushrikeen** (Polytheists, non believers).”

*Note that only Muslims are the guided people, and only they will enter Paradise. See 4:112;7:140;16:97;17:19. ** (See 3:67,68,95;6:161;22:78)

2:136 “ Say (O’ Muslims!): ‘ We believe in Allah and that

which has been sent to us (through the Last Prophet), and which

was sent down to Ibrahim, Ismaeel, Isaac, Yaqub) and his

descendents, and which was given to Musa, Isa (Jesus) as well

as to the other Prophets from their Lord. We do not differentiate

between any of them (i.e. believe in all of them *, as against the

Jews & Christians, who do not believe in all of them), and we

submit to Him as (true) Muslims.” (*This provides the definition of the Muslims)

2:137 “ So if they (People of Book) believe as you (Muslims)

believe, they will be guided; but if they turn away, they oppose

(Islam) just for nothing, then certainly, Allah is sufficient for you,

and He knows every thing.” (See also 4:150,151)
