2:138 BAPTISM, COLOR OF ALLAH / COLOR OF ISLAM
2:138 “ (Say O’ Muslims!) It is the color of Allah (& Islam)
(with which we have been colored); and whose color is
better than the color of Allah?; and we worship Him only.”
[Baptism: The People of the Book evolved a strange idea of baptism, wherein a person on accepting Christianity or while repenting on his/her sins was sprinkled with colored water, or was dipped into it. Such a person was considered as baptized or colored with Christianity. It has been stated above that it is the color of Allah or the color of Islam which is the best, and with which the Muslims have been colored. The sins of the non-believers can never be washed off with simple colored water. These will be washed off only, if they accept Islam. (Bukhari-Mishkat:2263)]
The Holy Prophet
Said:
“ When a person accepts Islam, and his Islam
Is good, Allah (Almighty) forgives his previous sins.” (Mishkat:2263)
2:139 “Say (to the People of the Book): ‘ Do you quarrel with
us about Allah, whereas He is our Lord as well as your Lord;
and to us belong our deeds and to you your deeds. And we are
sincere to Him (in obeying His Commandments).”
2:140 “ Or, you say that Ibrahim, Ismaeel, Isaac, and Yaqub
as well as his descendents were either Jews or Christians. Say:
‘Do you know better or Allah? And who is more unjust than
the one who conceals the truth, which is with him from Allah?
(i.e. to believe in Muhammad-peace be upon him, as written
in their books*). And Allah is not, at all, unaware of what you
