Al-Quran further warns that if any one (dares and) selects a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted of him.(3:85). The only religion, which is before Almighty Allah, is Islam. (3:19). The People of the Book rebelled against Islam, and fabricated the religions of Judiaism & Christianity.
2:133 “ Or were you the witness (O’ People of the Book), when
Yaqub (Jacob) was on the verge of death; and when he said to
his sons: ‘ Whom will you worship after me?’ They replied: ‘We
shall worship your Ilah (God or Allah) and the Ilah of your ‘Aba’
(father & fore father*) , namely, Ibrahim, Ismaeel & Isaac- the
only Ilah (God); and we shall submit to Him only, as Muslims.’”
[* Aba’:This word is used in Arabic for father, brother of father, and fore father, since Prophet Ismaeel was the brother of Prophet Isaac, and uncle of Prophet Yaqub. This also indicates the attachment of the sons of Prophet Yaqub with the religion of their father/grand father/great grand father.]
2:134 The Law of Justice/Equality:
2:134 “ This is the Ummah (community, nation) that has passed away.
They will have what they earned, and for you (O’ People of the
Book!) is that what you earned;* and you will not be asked, what
they did.”

i)The Law of Justice & The Grace of Allah: Here the People of the Book have been warned that their false religion will not help them, since they have rebelled against Islam, and Millat of Ibrahim. Here the Law of Justice has also been stated i.e. reward/punishment in proportion to deeds. It may be noted that the People of the Book will not enter Paradise, unless they become Muslims. It may further be noted that Allah multiplies the reward of the good deeds of the Muslims with His Grace.(2:261;6:160;25:70). Never the less, the general law of Justice/Equality prevails i.e. Punishment or reward equivalent to deeds. (2:134;6:164;17:15;53:38,39)
ii) The effect of the prayers/deeds of others:
The common Law of equality has been stated above. Nevertheless, the believers will be benefited by the prayers / deeds of children etc. . The following facts, as mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah may be kept in view in this regard:
