c)“ …The best deed is to believe in Allah & His Messenger…The next is Jihad in the Way of Allah..And further next is pure Hajj.”(Bukhari:1447)

d) Ayesha (Mother of the believers) submitted: ‘ O’ Allah’s Messenger! We consider Jihad as the superior most deed. Should we not then participate in Jihad?’ The Holy Prophet replied: “ For you women, the superior most deed is Hajj Mabrur(without any sin).” (Bukhari: 1448,1762) [Ayesha stated that after listening to this, she never abandoned Hajj. (Bukhari:1762)

e)“ Jihad in the Way of Allah , and to believe in Him are the superior most

deeds.” (Muslim-Mishkat:3629)

f)“ O’ People! Hajj is obligatory upon you, so you must perform it.” A man asked whether that was obligatory every year. The Holy Prophet remained silent. When he asked thrice, the Holy Prophet said: “ Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have become obligatory for you every year, which you could not have afforded.” The Holy Prophet then added: “ When I leave you (i.e. adopt silence), you must also leave me. The previous nations were destroyed because of asking their Prophets excessive questions, and because of their differences between them. When I order about a certain matter, do it according to your capacity; and when I stop you from some thing, abstain from it.”

B) MANASAK OF UMRAH:

i) Fara’id: a) Wearing of Ihram & (b) Twa’f of Ka’ba.

ii) Wa’jiba’t: a) Offering two Rakat at Maqa’m-e-Ibrahim,

d) drinking Zam Zam water, © Sai at Safa & Marwa, and

e) shaving of head/ hair cutting. (Then put off Ihram).

C) DETAILS OF UMRAH

i) Wearing of Ihram: It means the wearing of two unstitched white garments (one for the upper portion of the body, and the other for its lower portion). Take bath, put on Ihram,and keep your head uncovered. The woman should cover their body and head with normal dress, and must notwear hand gloves. They must also keep their face uncovered. In the state of Ihram, its restrictions should be strictly observed by men and woman (such as no perfume, no hair cutting, no nail cutting, no sex, no fighting etc. (2:197;Bukhari:1463,1470,1700)

Offer two Rakat, after wearing Ihram.

Recite Talbiya*: (i.e.) “ Labbaik allahumma labbaik; labbaika la sharika laka labbaik; innal hamda wannemata laka walmulk; la sharika Laka.” (*Bukhari:1474)

(Note: After reciting Talbiya, pray to Allah forHis Pleasure, and for awarding Paradise & His Mercy for liberation from Hell.(Mishkat: 2437)

[Note: In Umrah, the recitation of Talbiya is stopped before starting the twaf of Kaba; whereas in case of Hajj, it is stopped before Rami (i.e. striking the Big Devil) on the First Day of Rami(i.e. 10th Zil Hajj) (Sahih Al-Bukhari:1602)]
