The Holy Prophet said:

“ Since the creation of the heavens and earth, Allah has made

Mecca as ‘Haram’ (i.e sacred & peaceful) and will remain

as such till the Day of Judgement…(Bukhari:1737)

b)Madina as ‘Haram’ (Sacred & peaceful): The Holy Prophet said:

‘Haram’….(Bukhari:6902)

c) The Holy Prophet said about Mecca & Madina:

“ There is no city except Mecca & Madina, which will not be trampled by Dajjal…”

(Bukhari:1781,1782)

III) COMING OF THE LAST PROPHET: Almighty Allah accepted the prayers of Prophet Ibrahim, as in 2:129 above, and raised the Last Prophet in Mecca from the descendents of his son Ismaeel with the same qualities as stated there. ( See 2:151;3:164;62:2).

The Holy Prophet said:

“ (a) I am the prayer of (Prophet) Ibrahim, (b) I am the Prophet about whom the happy news were given by (Prophet) Isa (Jesus), and (c) I am the dream of my mother, wherein she observed a light emitting from her at the time of my birth, with which the palaces of Syria glittered for her.” (Mishkat:5511)

IV) Muslim: Prophets Ibrahim & Ismaeel also prayed to Almighty Allah to keep themselves Muslims, while erecting the foundations of Kaba, as mentioned in 2:128 above. It may be noted that all the Prophets and their followers were Muslims. (See 2:128,133;12:101;6:163;10:76.104;39:12)

V) UMRAH & HAJJ (See also the commentary under 2:196-203)

UMRAH & HAJJ (PILGRIMAGE)

A) Importance: Al-Quran states:: a) “ Complete Umrah & Hajj (with their requirements) for Allah.” (2:196) (b) “ And the Right of Allah towards the people is the performance of Hajj of (His) House by the person, who can afford towards it.” ( 3:97) (c) “ The months of Hajj are well known (i.e. Shawal, Zi-Qa’d, and the first ten days of Zil-Hajj)*. Therefore, who so ever intends to perform Hajj in these months, he must not have any sexual relations with his wife, neither disobey (the Commandments of Allah and His Messenger), and nor fight during Hajj.” (2:197)* Bukhari:1484-85

The Holy Prophet said:

a) “ Who so ever performs Hajj, and neither commits any sexual act with his

wife, nor disobeys the Commandments (of Allah & His rophet), he will

return to the day, when he was born by his mother.” (Bukhari: 1723)

b)“ Umrah to Umrah is the compensation against sins in between, and the

reward for the pure Hajj is nothing but Paradise.” (Bukhari:1683)
