2:124-129 PROPHET IBRAHIM, KABA, THE LAST PROPHET,
UMRAH & HAJJ
2:124 “ And when (Prophet) Ibrahim was tested by his Lord
in certain matters; and he accomplished them (successfully).
His Lord then said: ‘ I am making you the Leader of humanity.’
He (Ibrahim) submitted: ‘And (will this leadership stay) in my
descendents (also?).’ He replied: ‘My promise is not extended
to ‘zalimeen (disbelievers) (from your descendents).’”
2:125 “ And when We made the House (i.e. Ka’ba in Mecca)
the center of assembly and a place of security for the people; and
you (people) must make Maqa’m (place) of Ibrahim as the
place for prayers. And We took a commitment from (Prophets)
Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ismaeel to purify My House (Ka,ba) for
those who circumambulate it (i.e. perform ‘Twa’f) and stay in it
(i.e. observe ‘Itakaf); and also (purify it) for those who bow and
prostrate here (in their prayers).” (See also 22:26)
2:126 “ And when (Prophet) Ibrahim prayed: ‘O’ my Lord! Make
this city (of Mecca) peaceful, and provide livelihood from fruits to
its inhabitants, who believe in Allah & the Last Day.’
He (Allah) replied: ‘ I will provide such things for a short time
even to the person, who disbelieves, and then I will throw him to
the torment of the Fire (of Hell); and how worst is (his)
