1. Extreme Respect: The believers in 2:104 have been warned that while talking to the Holy Prophet, they must use such words depicting extreme respect. In 49:2, the Muslims were commanded not to raise their voice above that of the Holy Prophet, lest their deeds were destroyed. A warning was issued also in 9:61, stating a painful torment to those, who offend the Holy Messenger.

2. Grace of Almighty Allah: The above Verse 2:105 indicates that the Holy Prophet and Al-Quran are the Great Grace of Almighty Allah . The Muslims have been commanded in 10:57,58 to celebrate such Grace and Mercy of Allah on them

3.Unnecessary Questions: In 2:108 above, the Muslims have been commanded not to ask the Holy Prophet unnecessary questions, since the realities, if exposed, would have been very pinching for them. (5:101) For example, a person asked the Holy Prophet about his destination. The Holy Prophet replied that the Fire (of Hell) was his destination. (Bukhari: 6864,515). Again, when the Pilgrimage was made obligatory, a person asked the Holy Prophet whether that was obligatory every year. He kept quiet. When that person asked thrice, he said: “ Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have become obligatory every year.” (Muslim-Mishkat:2391)

2:109,110 TRAINING & PREPARATION FOR JIHAD

2:109 “ A majority of the People of the Book like to see you reverted to disbelief after

your belief in Islam (by confusing and inciting you to ask useless questions) just

because of (their) jealousy hidden in their hearts, when the truth (of Islam) has

been clear to them; so pardon and ignore them till Allah issues you

His Commandment (to fight them). Verily, Allah is All Powerful on

every thing.” (See also 3:69,99;4:54)

2:110 “And establish prayers and pay zakat; and what ever deeds

you send ahead, you will (surely) find them with Allah (on the

Day of Judgement). Of course, Allah watches all that you do.”

Jihad was made obligatory in stages as below:

1.The companions of the Holy Prophet were commanded in the beginning to tolerate the mischiefs of the disbelievers and avoid fighting them until they were trained to withstand their onslaught , before Almighty Allah. In the mean time, they were commanded to offer optional prayers successively, apart from the obligatory prayers, and pay zakat, as stated above in 2:109,110.. It may be noted that the Holy Prophet offered (excessive) optional prayers in calamities (Mishkat:1249) as well as in happiness. (Mishkat:1407).
