2:87-89 THE JEWS REFUTED ALLAH’S MESSENGERS
2:87 "And, indeed, We granted (Prophet) Musa (Moses) the
Book (Torah), and We sent Messengers in succession
after him; and We granted (Prophet) Isa (Jesus) bin
Maryam (Mary) clear Signs (Miracles), and supported
him with the Holy Spirit ( Angel Gibrael); so when ever
came to you a Messenger with the Commandments
that you disliked, you became rude and refuted
some of them, while trying to kill the others.”(See 5:70)
2:88 "And they (the Jews) said (with pride): ‘There is a barrier
before our hearts. The fact is that Allah cursed them due
to their disbelief, and thus only a few of them believe
(in the Last Prophet).”
2:89 "And when (finally) came down to them the Book (Al-
Quran) from Allah, certifying (the Torah) which was
with them, and before that they prayed for the grant
of victory over the disbelievers (due to the Last
Prophet). But when he came, whom they recognized,
they refuted him; let the curse of Allah fall on them.”

1. Curse On The Jews: An attempt on the part of the Jews for killing the Prophets was a horrible crime for which misery and humiliation was thrown upon them. (2:61,91). They broke their promise with Allah, refuted Allah’s Verses, tried to kill the Prophets, and proudly stated that a barrier had been inserted before their hearts (and thus did not care for the warnings of the Prophets). Consequently, the curse of Allah was inflicted on them. (4:155)
2. Severe wrath on the Jews for not believing in the Last Prophet:
When the Jews refuted the Last Prophet, whom they recognized, severe wrath of Allah fell upon them (2:89,90)
