2:83-86 “And remember, when We took a solid promise from the

Descendents of Israel:

i) Don’t worship any one except Allah,

ii-v) Be kind to parents, relatives, orphans & the needy,

vi) Talk to the people nicely and correctly (about the

Last Prophet) (See the Noble Quran),

Vii,viii) Offer prayers and pay zakat.

You then broke this promise, excepting a few from

you; and you surely set aside your commitment.

ix, x ) And when We ( also) took a solid promise from you

not to cause bloodshed nor expel your people from their

homes - which you admitted (to abide by ); and you are a

witness to it.But then these are you, who kill your own people,

and expel a group of yours from their houses and help

their enemies in their evil deeds; and if they (i.e. your

fellow beings) come to you as prisoners of war, you then

liberate them by paying ransom (just to show off),

whereas their expulsion from their houses in the very

first instance was forbidden (in the Torah). Do you

then believe in one part of the Book and reject the

other? What is the punishment for such type of

people then except that they should be disgraced in the

life of this world, and that on the Day of Judgement

they will be thrown to severe punishment (of Fire)?

These are the people, who have purchased the life

of this world in lieu of the Hereafter; and thus the

torment will neither be reduced for them, nor they

will be assisted (therein).” (see also 6:151-157;17:22-39)

The Cunning Diplomacy :

The Polytheists of Al-Madina were divided into two rival groups, Aus & Khizraj. The Jews of Al-Madina also divided themselves politically into 2 groups so that if one of them supported Aus, the other assisted Khizraj. The Jews, thus, fought against each other. After the conflict, the cunning chiefs of the Jews siding the victorious group of the Polytheists got the captives of their rival political group liberated, by stating that they acted upon the Torah, whereas they were commanded in the first instance not to kill each other. Al-Quran admonishes such cunning type of Jews, as above.
