2:74 THE HEARTS OF THE JEWS & THE STONES
2:74 "Then your hearts hardened like stone or even more than this,
after such an event(i.e. revival of the deceased); and, indeed,
there are (a) some stones, from which the rivers originate;
and (b) , of course, there are other stones from which water
flows , when they split up; and (c) there are still others, which
crumble down (into pieces) with the fear of Allah.
And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”

1. Examples of the Disintegration of Stones: (LIFE IN STONES)
i) As stated in Verse No. 2:60 before, the Jews observed the emergence of 12 water springs from a stone struck by Prophet Musa with his stick.
ii) The Mountain At-Toor crumbled into particles of dust, when ‘Tajalli’ (the smallest fraction of Allah’s Light) fell upon it…(7:143)
iii) It has been mentioned in Verse No. 59:21 that had Al-Quran been sent down to a mountain, it would have been disintegrated into pieces with the fear of Allah. (59:21)
2. THE HOLY PROPHET SAID (about the Mountain Uhad):
“ This Mountain (Uhad) loves us, and we love it.” (Bukhari:3855)
[The trees, Stones etc. offered Sla’m to the HolyProphet. (Mishkat:5665)]
3. The Holy Quran warns the Muslims:
“ Has not yet arrived the moment for the believers (Muslims) that they
fear with the memory of Allah and also fear while listening what
Allah has sent down (i.e. Al-Quran)?; and they must not behave like
those (Jews), who were given the Book before (you), and a long
period (of disobedience) passed away, when their hearts hardened;
and, of course, many of them were ‘Fasiqu’n’ (rebels).” (57:16)
The Holy Prophet Said
“ The person shedding tears in the memory of Allah will be under His
Shadow (on the Day of Judgement), when there will be no other
shadow.. .”(Bukhari:6114)
