2:67-73 SLAUGHTERING OF COW & EXCUSES OF THE JEWS
2:67 "And when (Prophet) Musa (Moses) said to his people:
& Allah commands you to slaughter a cow.’ They replied:
& Are you joking with us?’ He (Musa) said: ‘ I seek Allah’s
refuge from being amongst the ignorant (and the fools).’”
2:68 "They (then) asked him to pray to his Lord to make the cow
clear to them. He replied that Allah commanded that the
cow should neither be old nor young, but rather in between;
and that they should act upon the Commandment.”
2:69 "They (further) requested him to pray to his Lord to clarify
the colour (of the cow). He replied that Allah commanded
that the cow should be yellowish bright, attracting the
spectators.”
2:70 "They (again) requested him to pray to his Lord to clearly specify
the cow, since the cow surely confused them, and that, if
Allah wills, they will find their way towards the cow ( i.e. they
will locate the cow).”
