6. Before the coming of the Last Prophet, the Jews waited impatiently for him. Ironically, however, when he came, they refused to believe in him, though they recognized him. They, therefore earned the severe wrath of Allah, since they broke away their commitment that they made with Him.The Holy Quran invites them to accept Islam for their own benefit.

2:43-46THE JEWS TO ACCEPT ISLAM

2:43 "And (O’ Children of Israel!) establish the prayers, pay zakat,

and bow down with those who bow (i.e. the Muslims, who

bow in prayers) (i.e. the Jews must accept Islam).”

2:44 "Do you then (O’ Children of Israel!) order the people to do

good (do the right thing) (i.e. believe in the Last Prophet), and

you yourselves forget about (him), whereas you recite the Book

(i.e. the Torah, where his qualities have been mentioned).

Do you then not understand?” (See Ziul-Quran)

(See also ‘The Noble Quran’ under 2:42)

2:45 "And seek assistance (of Allah) through patience and prayers,

and, indeed, it is a difficult task, except for those, who submit

with humility (to Allah).”

2:46 "They are those, who are sure that they shall meet their Lord,

and that they have to return to Him.”

THE PRAYERS, ZAKAT & BELIEF IN THE LAST PROPHET

1. Almighty Allah took a promise from the Children of Israel forestablishing prayers, paying zakat, and believing in His Messengers as well as honoring them (particularly the Last Prophet).(5:12,13)

2. Through Prophet Musa (moses), Almighty Allah took a promise from the Jews for paying zakat..& believing in the Last Prophet. (7:157).

3. The Jewish scholars were scared of their people in accepting Islam. They have been advised here in 2:43 above, that through the sincere establishment of prayers with the Muslims in congregation and with the payment of Zakat, they can repel such a fear of the people.
