2:40-42 THE DESCENDENTS OF ISRAEL
2:40 "O’ Descendents of Israel! Remember My Grace that I bestowed
upon you, and (if you) fulfil your commitment (that you made)
with Me (for believing in the Last Prophet), I will also fulfil My
Commitment with you (for granting you success and glory); and
fear Me alone (without caring for the enmity of the people in
accepting Muhammad as the Last Prophet- peace be upon him).”

2:41 "And believe in (Al-Quran) that I have sent down certifying (the
Book i.e. the Torah) which is with you; and you must not be the
first to refute it (since you recognize Muhammad-peace be upon
him), and do not purchase small (and useless) benefits in lieu of
My Verses; and fear Me alone.” (See 2:89,146;6:20;23:69)
2:42 "And do not mix up the right with wrong, nor conceal the truth
(about Muhammad-peace be upon him), when you surely know

THE JEWS & THE LAST PROPHET
1. In the above and in the next Verses, the Jews have been specifically invited to believe in the Last Prophet, whom they recognized, and through whom they prayed to Almighty Allah, in the past, to grant them victory over their enemy. (2:89)
2. Because of the Grace of Almighty Allah, the Jews were the superior people in the world. They were granted the Book, the power, the Prophet-hood, and good living. (5:20;45:16;2:40,47,122)
3. During the period of Pharaoh, they were terribly crushed. Almighty Allah liberated them from him through His Prophet Musa (Moses).
4. They were granted a great kingdom under Prophets Daud and Sulaiman (Solomon). (2:251;21:81;38:35)
5. But they disobeyed Almighty Allah, and tried to kill his Prophets. They created trouble on earth, and, therefore, Almighty Allah punished them through His ferocious people, who created havoc all over and destroyed their sacred Mosque & the city (of Jerusalem). (4:155;17:4-7)
