CALIPHATE & KNOWLEDGE
1. WORSHIP: The angels thought that the simple worshipping and glorification of Almighty Allah was all that was desired. It may be noted that worshiping with will and determination, so as to establish His Law in the universe even at the risk of life, is the supreme objective, about which probably they could not think of.(Almighty Allah knows the best)
2. Because of his inherent quality, the Caliph with his will rather than an Angel fulfills the great responsibility of establishing Allah’s Law on earth. It may further be noted that the angels feared that the Caliph or the human beings will cause bloodshed on earth, whereas they themselves on the Commandment of Allah, caused bloodshed when they killed the disbelievers in the Battles of Badr, Hunain etc.(8:12,13;9:26;3:123-127). They surely would have been wonder struck to see the Muslims fighting and offering prayers in the battlefield at their own will, so as to establish the Commandments of Allah and thus fulfil the great responsibility, attached to the Caliphate.
3. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER:
Prophet Adam was declared superior over the Angels, because of his inherent capability of attaining and retaining the knowledge. With the power of knowledge and its application, the son of Adam fulfils his responsibility as a Caliph and establishes Allah’s Law on earth so as to maintain peace and justice. The RESOURCES of theWORLD, as mentioned before in 2:29, have been provided to him by Almighty Allah, for this purpose. For example, with regard to iron, as one of the engineering resources. Al-Quran states:
IRON
And We produced iron, in which there is a great might
(and power) as well as many benefits for the people so
that Allah (Almighty) may clearly show such people, who
help Him and His Messengers without seeing (them) (so as to
establish their Commandments by utilizing the might of iron
with the engineering knowledge)”.
4. Engineering Knowledge & MIGHT OF THE PROPHETS:
Al-Quran provides the facts as below:
a) Prophet Daud (David) was expert in the technology of war garments(of steel). (21:80;34:10). He was granted the kingdom, wisdom as well as knowledge. (2:251).
b) Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) controlled wind and (his naval force which was so strong that) he could cover the two month’s distance in a single day (34:12). He was granted also the expertise in non-ferrous metals like copper.(34:12)
c) Lofty buildings and wide reservoirs were built for Prophet Sulaiman by Jinns (34:13).
d) Talut (Saul) was appointed king for the Descendents of Israel, because of his superior knowledge and physical power. (2:246,247)
e) Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) was given power in Egypt because of his honesty & knowledge (particularly of crop preservation) . (12:54,55)
f) Our Last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the leader of the Prophets was granted all the knowledge, which was never given to any other Prophet.
