1. A very affectionate word for the Holy Prophet:

In 2:23, a very affectionate word (Abd - Servant or Slave of Allah) has been used for the Holy Messenger. Such a word has also been used for him in 17:1.

2. No doubt, this word has been used in Al-Quran for the other Prophets, Angels etc., but the way it has been used for our Holy Prophet is quite beautiful. This word has been used for others as below:

a) For the Angels (21:26;4:172)

b) For Prophet Esa (Jesus) (4:172)

c) For Prophet Daud (David) (38:30)

d) For Prophets, Ibrahim, Isaac & Yaqub (Jacob) (38:45)

e) For Prophet Ayyub (38:44)

f) For Khidr (18:65)

g) For gods, idols etc. (7:194)

h) For those who punished the disobedient Jews. (17:5)

i) For the slave of a person (16:75)

j) For the pious people (21:105)

3. BELIEF IN MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him) & AL-QURAN:

The Holy Quran advises the disbelievers in 2:23,24 above to believe in Muhammad ( peace be upon him) and Al-Quran, otherwise they must accept the challenge of producing a chapter like the chapters of Al-Quran. This challenge has been repeated at various places of Al-Quran in such words as below:

a) Bring a book like it (17:88)

b) Bring ten chapters like it. (11:13,14)

c) Bring a chapter like it. (2:23;10:38)

d) Bring a statement like it. (52:33,34)

The above challenge was not accepted and will never be accepted.

4. AL-QURAN: A TOTAL MIRACLE

The Holy Prophet said:

a) “Every Prophet was granted miracles in proportion to the number of his believers (followers). But this Al-Quran is a total revelation (total miracle-every Verse of it is a miracle)*,which Allah (Almighty) has granted me. I am, thus, hopeful (sure) that the number of my followers ill be more than the number of followers of the other Prophets (on the Day of Judgement).”(Bukhari:4696,6846).

[And “ The Muslims will be half of the total population of Paradise.” (Bukhari:6266)]

b) “ The Supremacy of the Word of Almighty Allah (i.e. Al-Quran) over

the other words (books) is like the Supremacy of Allah (Almighty)

over His creature.” (Tirmizi- Ma’arif-ul-Hadith, Vol. 5, page 52)
