3:83 - 85 THE RELIGION OF ISLAM

3:83 “ Do they look for a religion other than Islam, whereas every thing

in the heavens and earth submits itself to Him (i.e. Allah) willingly or

unwillingly; and to Him shall they return.”

3:84 “ Say (Holy Prophet): ‘ [We are not like you (O’ People of the

Book!), who believe in the Prophets of their choice, whereas we believe

in all of them, since we are the custodians of their teachings.] We

believe in Allah and that which has been sent down (i.e. Al-Quran) to us,

and in that which was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isaac, Yaqub

(Jacob) and Al-Asba’t (i.e. the sons of Yaqub) as well as sent down to

Musa (Moses), Easa (Jesus) and (all) the (other) Prophets from their

Lord; and that We make no distinction (at all) between any of them

(while believing) (since all of them are the Prophets), and we have

submitted (ourselves) to Him (as Muslims, believing in His Religion of

Islam).” *

* [The above Verse provides the definition of a Muslim. The followers of Islam believe in all the Prophets. See also 2:136,137.]

3:85 “ And who so ever looks for a religion other than Islam, it shall never be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter, he will be from the failures.”
