i) ‘Mutawaffeeka’ [shall take you on to the full term of your life

ii) (without murder, crucifixion, death etc.), *

(See 3:57;39:70;48:10;53:37,41;76:7)

iii) raise you towards Myself (alive and honorably), **

(See also 4:157-159)

iv) purify you from (the allegations of) the non-believers (that you are Allah’s son) [or purify you by taking you away from the dirty environment created by the non-believers],

v) make those, who follow you, above those who disbelieve (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Judgement.

Then you shall return to Me and I will give My Verdict between you on matters in which you have been differing.

* ‘Twaffi’:

Its real meaning is ‘to take on to full’. The unreal or fictitious meaning of this word is ‘death’, which is not applicable here.

The meaning of this word (i.e. to take/give to full) may also be understood from the Verses 3:57;39:70;48:10;53:37,41;76:7.

LIFE TERMS:

Jesus has two life terms: The first term as a Prophet and the second term as the follower of Muhammad – peace be upon him, when he will return to earth to fight Dajjaal.

** JESUS RAISED ALIVE TOWARDS ALLAH:

The above Verse 3:55 has been clarified and elaborated in Verses 4:157-159, as below:

“ … They (i.e. the Jews) neither killed him (i.e. Jesus) nor crucified

him, but the matter became doubtful to them (and they killed another

person, who looked like Jesus)…And they definitely did not kill him

(i.e. Jesus). But Allah raised him (alive) towards Himself. And Allah is

All -Powerful, All –Wise. And there will be none from the People of

the Book, but that he shall believe in him before his death (i.e. before

the death of Jesus, after he returns to earth or before the death of a Jew

or a Christian). And on the Day of Judgement, he (Jesus) will be a

witness over them.” (4:157,159)

The Holy Prophet said about the Return of Jesus:

1. “ How much honored you will be when Jesus, the son of Mary

will descend amongst you, and your leader will be from you?”

(Bukhari:3265)

2. “ A group of my Ummah shall continue to fight and will dominate

till the Day of Judgement. And that Jesus, the son of Mary shall

descend amongst you and the leader of the Muslims will invite

him to lead the prayers. He will, nevertheless reply: ‘The leaders

of yours are from you. Allah has honored this Ummah.’”

(Muslim – Mishkat:5271)

3. Abu Haraira narrated that the Holy Prophet said:

“ By Allah in whose Hands my life is! The time is, of course,

drawing near, when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) will, of course,

descend amongst you and will rule with justice. He will shatter

the cross in to pieces, kill the swine, set aside ‘Jizya’ (i.e. tax from

the non- Muslims for their protection) (as all will accept Islam),

float wealth to such an extent that there will be none needing it –

so much so that each and every prostration to Allah will be far

better than this world and whatever is in it (i.e. its total wealth).”

After narrating this Hadith, Abu Haraira added:: ‘ If you need the

proof for it, recite “Wa in Min Ah-Lil Kitabe…” i.e. Verse 4:159.

4.“…Allah will send Jesus, the son of Mary, and he will descend on

the Eastern side of Damascus by the side of the white minaret,

clad in two yellowish garments and with his hands placed on the

wings (arms) of the two angels. When he will bend his head, it will

appear as if the drops (of his perspiration) were falling; and that

on raising his head such drops will look like glittering pearls. The

non- believer feeling the fragrance of his breath - spreading far

away, will die (on the spot). Jesus will then proceed in search of

Dajjaal, and will trap him on the gate of Ludd*, where he will kill

him.”

* (Ludd is presently called as Lydda, situated a few kilometers away from Tel Aviv and has a big airport.)

(Muslim, Tirmizi - Mishkat:5239
