5. Islam - the religion of knowledge and wisdom.

The Holy Quran commanded the respectable wives of the Holy Prophet (i.e. the Mothers of the believers) in the following words to communicate knowledge and wisdom to others particularly to the girls and women, comprising almost 50% of the population.

? …And remember (as well as communicate to others) what is

recited in your homes from the Verses of Allah as well as from

Al-Hikmah (Wisdom, the teachings of the Holy Prophet)…”

(33:34)

Islam, thus, enjoins upon every girl and woman to seek knowledge. The Holy Quran states further:

&#x…And Allah sent down to you (Holy Prophet) the Book as well

as Al-Hikmah (Wisdom, Sunnah) and taught you all that which

you did not know; and the Grace of Allah on you is ever great.”

(4:113)

It was because of the above teachings of Islam that the Muslims illuminated the world with knowledge.

In this connection, please note below an extract taken from the Book on ‘ The Crusades’ by Henry Truce, 1963 (Random House, New York) regarding the educational and scientific achievements of the Muslims in the medieval ages:

? At a period when to most Europeans, the heavens were a

numbo -jumbo of goats, bull and fish, the Muslims calculated

the angle of eclipse and predetermined the exact time of solar

and lunar eclipses.”

“ There were efficient universities at Cordoba, Basra, Baghdad

and Cairo, where the students were admitted from all parts of

the world, and scholarships were granted to them irrespective

of their nationality.”

----------------------------------

After such a discussion, the Question now arises: Where do the Westerners find the violation of human rights in Islam? Where do they detect fundamentalism and terrorism in Islam? Where do they trace the trampling down of the fundamental rights of women etc. in Islam? Are the above teachings of the Holy Quran as well as of the Holy Prophet not then sufficient to explode and_reject their false and fabricated ideas about Islam?__________

The Holy Quran states about such people:

And there are those from amongst mankind, who argue about

Allah (or about Islam) without any knowledge and who follow

every devil - the rebel (and disobedient to Allah).” (22:3)

“ And there are those from amongst mankind, who argue about

Allah (or about Islam) without any knowledge, guidance or a

Book of light (from Almighty Allah).” (22:8)

Note: In the next Verses of Aal-e-Imran (3:21 - 30), the Holy Quran points out to the people (i.e. the Jews), who refuted Allah’s Commandments and tried to kill the Prophets as well as those who ordered justice amongst mankind. Because of their such horrible crimes, they were dethroned and degraded. The responsibility of leading the world was, then, handed over to the Companions of the Holy Prophet with a warning that they should not take the non-believers as their protectors.
