2:254 TO SPEND IN THE WAY OF ALLAH
“O’ you, who believe! Spend from what we have given you, before the Day (of Judgement) comes, when there will be no deal, and neither there will be any friendship (for the non-believers)* nor any intercession (for them)**; and the non-believers are ‘zalimun’ (unjust to themselves).”
Verse No 63:10 states in this regard:
“ And spend from what We have given you, before death
comes to any of you…”
Note: * a) There will be friendship between the believers on the Day of Judgement. (see 43:67)
** b) There will be intercession for the believers on the Day of Judgement. (See commentary under 2:48)
The next Verse 2:255 also clarifies that the intercession will be with the Permission of Allah. (See also 19:87;21:28;32:4)
Note: The next Verse is called Ayat-al-Kursi i.e. the Verse of Kursi. This Verse states that the entire universe belongs to Almighty Allah. His authority and kingdom is all over the world. It further indicates that the people, no doubt, has been given the liberty to adopt or reject the Right, but they are under His complete Supervision, and they, surely will be accounted for their beliefs and deeds.
2:255 ALMIGHTY ALLAH
“(Almighty) Allah (the Only One) - none is to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living the Sustainer (of the universe). Neither drowsiness nor slumber can affect Him. For Him is all that is in the heavens and earth. Who can intercede before Him but with His Permission? He knows all what happens to them (in this wold) and what will happen after them (in the Last World). And they cannot take a stock of any thing of His Knowledge except what He wills. His ‘Kursi’ (authority) is all over the heavens and earth, and their protection does not produce any weariness for Him. And He is All Exalted, All Great.”
