2:238-239 GUARD YOUR PRAYERS

2:238 “ Guard strictly the obligatory prayers particularly the middle prayer (i.e. Asr), and stand up obediently (and silently) (in prayers) for Allah.”

2:239 “And if you feel the fear (of enemy’s attack), offer prayers while on foot or in a state of riding. And when tranquility prevails over you, offer prayers in a (normal) way that He has taught you and about which you did not know before.”

[Note: Here we are reminded to offer prayers regularly, as they provide us necessary strength for not violating the Commandments of Allah, particularly while dealing with our wives and children.]

2:240 WILL ABOUT WIVES

2:240 “And those amongst you, who pass away and leave behind (their) wives, they must issue a will that they (i.e. their wives) shall be given subsistence allowance for one year (as well as residence) with no expulsion. But, if they themselves leave, there is no sin on you about what they do for themselves in an appropriate (honorable) way (and according to Shariah i.e. they marry honorably). And Allah is All- Powerful, All-Wise.”

2:241-242 THE SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE

2:241 “The divorced women shall (also) be given the subsistence allowance* in a reasonable manner. This is obligatory on ‘Muttaqeen’ (i.e. those who fear Allah).”

* [The subsistence allowance must be adequately provided to the divorced women, particularly (and abundantly) when the divorced women are pregnant, since the baby in the womb of the mother requires the utmost attention of his father. The mother, thus, still has the rights on him.

(See Zia-ul-Quran under 2:240)]

2:242 “In this way, Allah clarifies His Verses (Commandments) to you so that you may understand.”
