( Note: The Holy Prophet participated in 17 battles) (Bukhari: 3733)

15) The Quraish organized 3 aggressive campaigns against The Holy Prophet, but their plans were rendered useless because of his superior military strategy of. Their courage and morale was weakened.Realizing this, he suddenly marched on to Mecca. 17) The Holy Prophet was always ahead of his enemy in military strategy in all the battles (Badr, Uhud, Ahzab, Mecca, Hunain, Tabuketc.):

a) Sometimes, he adopted a new battle formation to the surprise of the enemy, as in Badr; sometimes he selected a better strategic position for fighting as in Uhud; and sometimes he adopted a new fighting technique as in Ahzab, which surprised the enemy, as they had never seen that before.

b) His expedition to Tabuk in the severe heat of summer was quite unexpected, and the Romans (Byzantines) were completely taken aback by the speed and morale of his army. The Romans, therefore, withdrew to safety and did not come out to fight.

And (Holy Prophet!) if the enemies incline to peace, you should also

incline towards it and put your trust in Allah…And, if they intend to

deceive you, Allah is sufficient to you…”(8:61,62)

The above Verse states the cardinal principle of the Holy Prophet’s war policy i.e. trust in Allah.
