*NOTE: These are the same Commandments as given to Prophet Musa and others, being the Universal Truth, and elaborated in 17:22-39.
5. THE BLESSED GROUP:
In 1:6, we pray to Almighty Allah, to guide us to the Path of those whom You blessed or favored. The Holy Quran states further that any one who obeys the Commandments of Allah & His Messenger, he will be with the Prophets, Siddiqeen, Martyres, and pious people. (4:69)
The Holy Prophet said (about the blessed group):
a) “ The example of my family in you is like the ship of (Prophet) Noah.
Whosoever embarked it, he is liberated; and whosoever remained
behind, he is destroyed.” (Ahmad-Mishkat:5921)
b) “ My companions are like stars; whom so ever you follow, you will
be guided.” (Razeen-Mishkat:5762)
c) “ A group of my ummah will continue to act upon the Commandments
of Allah (Almighty). Their opponents will not be able to harm them,
till the Day of Judgement appears, and they will be on it ( the Straight
Path).” (Al-Bukhari:7022)
6. The Jews & Christians:
We pray to Almighty Allah in 1:7 not to follow the path of those who earned His wrath or the path of those, who were misled. The Holy Quran states that the Jews earned the wrath of Allah for refuting His Verses and trying to kill His Prophets, as mentioned in 2:61. Again, when they refuted the Last Prophet after recognizing him, they earned the curse and severe wrath of Almighty Allah, as mentioned in 2:89,90. The Christians have been misled by believing that Allah is Massih (Messiah), the son of Mary or one of three gods, as mentioned in 5:72 ,73.
The Holy Prophet said:
“ By Almighty Allah in whose possession Muhammad’s life is that if
any of the Jews or Christians of this ummah hears about me and then
dies away without believing in the Message given to me, he will be
from the people of the Fire (of Hell).” (Muslim-Mishkat:8)
7. Other Misguided People: ( See Al-Bukhari :6673,4771) There are many other misguided groups. Let us see the warning of the the Holy Prophet about one of such groups:
“A group of people will appear among you, against whose prayers,
fasts and deeds, you will hate those of yours. They will recite Al-
Quran but it will not go down beyond their throats. They will go out
of the religion (of Islam) just as an arrow passes through its target
... without having any sign on it (such as blood etc).”(Al-Bukhari:4771)
