6.RESPONSIBILITY of the HEAD of FAMILY
“ Order your family about the prayers , and be firm on it.” (20:132)The Holy Prophet said:
“ Order your children at seven to offer prayers
and beat them at ten, if they don’t do so.”
(Abu Daud-Mishkat:526)
7. OBLIGATORY PRAYERS:
The obligatory prayers (five times a day) must be offered on time, as stated in 4:103. The obligatory prayers are offered at Fajr, Zuhar, Asr, Maghrib (evening) and Isha. The superior most optional prayers next to obligatory prayers is the prayer of Tahajjad .
For prayers, see Al-Quran- 20:103;17:79;30:17,18;11:14;40:55;50:39;40;76:25,26.
8.OPTIONAL PRAYERS: (Tahajjad, Ishraq, Doha etc.):
The Holy Prophet said:
a) “Allah (Almighty) descends to the nearest heaven when one third of
night is left over and announces: ‘Is there any one asking for My help
so that I may respond, grant what he needs, and forgive his sins.’"
(Al-Bukhari:1094)
b) “ Allah (Almighty) is sufficient for a person upto end of the day, who
offers 4 Rakat at its beginning.”
(Tirmizi,Abu Daud-Mishkat:1238)
c) “Every human being has 360 joints. For every joint there is a charity.
The two Rakat of Doha will be sufficient for it.”
(Mishkat:1239)
Nevertheless, The Holy Prophet said further:
“ The Religion is easy. And any one who makes it difficult for him,
will be exhausted. Follow the medium path .(Do not be extremist.) Act
on it (the Religion) according to your capacity…” (Bukhari:39,6098)
9. ALLAH’S ASSISTANCE:
We must not only worship Allah alone, but seek His assistance exclusively. All human beings even the Mushrikeen (who associate partners with Him) look for His assistance, particularly in crisis, when they forget their gods. Al-Quran depicts the change of mind of such Mushrikeen as under:
“When the sea storm covers them up like a shadow, they call Allah
(Almighty) sincerely, submitting themselves exclusively before Him.”(31:32)
