2:152 REMEMBERING ALMIGHTY ALLAH
2;152 “ Remember Me (i.e. Allah), and I will remember* you; and
be thankful** to Me, and never be ungrateful to Me.”
*Remembering Almighty Allah:
Almighty Allah surely remembers those, who remember Him (i.e. act upon His Commandments). How much blessed is the person, whom Almighty Allah remembers; and how wretched is the one, whom He forgets; since it means his destruction.
Al-Quran states:
a) “ Don’t be like those, who forgot Allah, and He (,in turn,) made them to forget
themselves (i.e. they lost their identity / destroyed)…(59:19)
b) Almighty Allah will say to the non-believers on the Day of Judgement
“ Then taste (the torment of the Fire of Hell), since you forgot to meet
(us) on this Day of yours; and We too have forgotten you…” (32:14)
The Holy Prophet
said:
i) “ The example of those, who remember Allah, and those who don’t,
is like the living and dead.” (Bukhari:6044)
ii) “ Allah (Almighty) says: ‘When My slave remembers Me, I am with
him; when he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in
My heart; and when he remembers Me in a group, I remember him
in a better group.’”
(Bukhari:6970; Bukhari & Muslim-Mishkat:2157)
Al-Quran states:
a) “… I (Allah) accept the invocations of the person, when he calls Me
only (without setting any partner against Me)…” (2:186)
b)“ And your Lord said: ‘ Call Me (only), I will respond to your prayer.
Indeed, those, who proudly disobey to worship Me, they will,
undoubtedly, enter Hell in a state of humiliation.” (40:60)
** Thankfulness:
The above Verse 2:152 further commands that We must be thankful to Almighty Allah (by obeying Him). And any one who is grateful (to Allah), he does it for himself…(31:12) The Holy Quran states:
“…If you are grateful, I (Allah) will give you more…” (14:7)
