"The Beast"

A terrible power has been set loose on the planet of Angaria. The council of Angaria found this out when a an old scholar named Kurath discovered the writings of Moranok. It is not everyday one comes across the diary of the ancient queen of Nolav.
Pleased with his discovery he opened the book and began reading. Not soon after did his eyes open up with fear, the kind that drove grown men to suicide.
Within these pages a truth was told, one that shook the very foundations of the planet. Kurath knew he had to get this to the elders of Angaria as soon as possible.
With the diary in hand Kurath made his way to Elanoria, to the council and presented them with the writings.

Falnor, an immortal elder neither male nor female, nor living nor dead was the first to read it. Once it had finished reading the final page Falnor called all of the elders to meet, determined to find a solution to what it had been presented with. Three days later, the Angarian council sat before each other in silence, waiting on Falnor to explain just what had been so important as to have dragged them from their elegant homes in distant lands. Falnor stood quite by the fireplace, it's mind trapped in an endless loop.
"Friends and allies, I have called you here to warn you of a coming threat. This "threat" is as real as you or I, the records in the Elanoria library have confirmed it to be true." Falnor turned abruptly from the fireplace and faced them with an intense look on his face. "Do you all recall the legend of Brimstone?"
Jade, an Amazon from the west was the first to answer. "Brimstone was a Holy Knight, imbued with the power of healing in Nolav. He was linked to Kaida, a legendary sorceress. Together they defended Angaria from many threats. His skill with melee weapons and her magic's were unrivalled. No one could ever hope of surpassing them, they were unlike any warriors that had ever existed. One day a messenger arrived from the north, a huge monster had appeared in the blizzard plagued mountains of Malro. On order of the queen they departed the next morning.
They arrived in Malro the next day. They gathered some information and then set out for the mountain.
That is all I known, I know they never returned from the mountain but that is all. No monster was ever seen again but Angaria had lost two of it's most valued heroes. Investigations followed their disappearances but they turned up nothing."
When she had finished Falnor spoke with a strained voice. "Well now we know what no one else does. We know what happened on the slopes of the Malro mountains." The others looked on with ever increasing interest and concern.
"This is the diary of Moranok, ancient queen of Noval. It is within these pages that you will find your concern. For within them lies the truth about Brimstone and Kaida. And also, the truth about what it was they had faced on the Malro mountains those many long years ago."
"Well are you going to tell us or do we have to wait for you to go on and on about how horrible it is?" This said by Dralo, a barbarian king in the east.
"Patience Dralo, I'm getting to it!" Snapped Falnor.
"There is a legend," he continued, "that an alien life form came here long, long ago. In the time of the dragon wars I believe. It was thought that this being was a savoir and was going to rid the world of death, poverty and suffering. This was definitely not the alien's plan. Not long after it's arrival it began a war with all of humanity, a world war that engulfed everyone and everything. The beast was said to have been as large as some cities at the least and stronger than entire armies.
The people of the world united for the first time in recorded history and fought the monster with all their might. It was a horrible war that killed millions of people. It is said the war lasted for one hundred years, we have no way of confirming this though.
Eventually, the beast was finally slain. A hero had emerged and defeated it. At first no one believed it. How could anyone have defeated such a creature they thought.
The hero never spoke a word and disappeared from society after leaving the battle ground. This hero came to be known as "The Chosen One" by the Angarian people. He or she was never seen again.
The beast was cut apart and buried deep on the Malro mountains. The one thing that puzzled those who buried it was that it had a marking on what was assumed to be it's forehead. This marking, whether it be natural or not consisted of a half moon over what appeared to be a lightning bolt.
You may have heard of this, whether you think it to be just a fairy tale or not. Now there is also another legend, more of a prophesy really. It is said that a warrior with a crescent moon and a mage with a lightning bolt will appear sometime in the future and bring a terrible doom to Angaria. Up until this point I have only told you of what I have read in my library. Now in the diary of the ancient queen it states that there were reports that the monster that Brimstone and Kaida presumably had killed bared the mark of the beast of the hundred year war."
The elders were now very much interested with what Falnor had to say.
"So are you saying that Brimstone and Kaida are the warrior and mage in the prophesy?" Asked Arion, King of Melnar to the south.
"I believe that to be true, yes."
Jade spoke with disbelief, "But they always protected the people of Angaria, without hesitation as the legends go. I find it hard to believe that such honoured heroes could be the monsters you make them out to be!"
"Think about it," insisted Falnor, "they were more powerful than any other knight or sorceress, more powerful than armies perhaps. Their true powers were never tested. If they ever turned against us we would have little defence against such a force."
Dralo shook his head, "Even if your right, Brimstone and Kaida are long dead by now. They are no threat to us."
"You are correct but there's a loophole there my friend," said Falnor earnestly. "The monster that appeared on the Malro mountains reportedly bore the same mark as the beast of the hundred year war! This means that these creatures could be one in the same. And that would mean that the beast of the hundred year war is immortal and therefore can only be hurt, not killed. It means that the beast, even after being cut into pieces has somehow regained some of it's former life force that it so eagerly used to kill those countless heroes who flung themselves at it futilely in the hundred year war.
And if that's true then maybe, just maybe, Brimstone and Kaida were somehow imbued with these powers of immortality. Which may mean they would still be alive today."
Jade spoke up as soon as Falnor finished, "This is all theory, even if it's true neither Brimstone nor Kaida have been seen in a thousand years! Show me proof!"
osedly buried. I ask each of you for a warrior instead of sending my own knights because I know that you would not believe me even had they found something. A small party of four warriors should do, I don't sense this is going to be a dangerous endeavour so an entire army wouldn't be logical. If I'm correct, the burial ground will hold some clue as to how true my theory is. I believe in this with every fibre of my being, I can sense something is wrong with the world and I'm usually not wrong about such things. I beg of you all, please assist me in this."
Silence filled the room as each Lord and lady considered Falnor's proposal.
"I'm willing to do this only because I know you not to be a liar. If you say you believe this then I trust in your judgement Falnor," proclaimed Jade. The others followed slowly after proclaiming similar things.
