Nintendo's newest addition to the handheld market has been doing quite well, with lots of third party support, free online gaming, and all for a
reasonable price. I bought my DS on the launch date at the local Meijer (thank you 24 hour stores) at midnight, and was the first person at that location
to purchase it. Yes, it does sound fanatical, but gaming products are funny when it comes to stores having stock, so I needed to be sure that I would have
this newest Nintendo system. At launch, the DS had Super Mario 64 DS, which obviously is a remake of the N64's smash hit, Super Mario 64. The system also
included a demo game, Metroid Prime Hunters: First Mission. This playable demo hardly held gamers lust for the online version that was released earlier
this year, Metroid Prime Hunters. The DS has taken many hits for being technologically inferior to Sony's PSP, but as history repeats itself again, we
see that what matters are the games; the experiences of gameplay and just downright fun. The DS allows for wireless gameplay and playing the Gameboy
Advance (GBA) library of games (single-player mode only).
