Dylan
did another run through the apartment making sure she hadn’t forgotten
anything. It was five am and she was heading out to the airport to take the private
plane that had been chartered to fly those cast that were in LA to New Zealand.
Emma came into the kitchen and yawned, “If you
forgot anything get the hobbit to buy it for you.”
“Shut up Em.” Dylan waved her away, “Is it too
late to quit?”
“Yes Dylan.” Emma picked up the suitcase, “Come
on whiney let’s go. This airport taxi is leaving.”
She just nodded and threw her carry on bag over
her shoulder. She couldn’t get away from it now. Inhale, exhale D, she thought
to herself, you can do this.
The pass Dylan had been given allowed Emma to
drive her onto a private area of the tarmac. She could make out Dom wearing a
newsie hat bouncing around a group of people.
Emma wasn’t allowed near the plane so she
helped her friend out of the car and gave her a hug. “Don’t worry D.” She held
her friend’s shoulders, “You’re a strong woman you can do this.”
“If you say so.”
“Go professional on their ass Dylan.” Emma
laughed, “They won’t know what hit ‘em.”
Dylan nodded and was surprised when someone
spoke from behind her, “That was an inspirational pep talk.” By the stunned
look on Emma’s face and the accent in the voice of the speaker Dylan had a
pretty good idea who it was.
She turned around and smiled at him, “You must
be Orlando.” She extended her hand to him.
“I must be.” He laughed, “From the look of you,
you’re Dylan.” He shook her hand firmly.
She rolled her eyes, “Don’t tell me…”
He kept hold of her hand and held his other one
up to stop her, “Dom described you, it’s the first time I’ve heard of you.” He
winked, “That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”
She breathed a sigh of relief, “You are rapidly
becoming my favourite cast member.”
“I promise I won’t tell anyone.” He
smiled. “Who’s this?” He indicated Emma.
“Oh I’m sorry, this is my friend Emma she’s
just dropping me off.”
“And giving out some good advice. Pleasure to
meet you Emma.” He gave her a nod.
“H-hi Orlando.” She gave a quick wave. “Well D
have fun and give me a call when you get in.” She said hurriedly before getting
into her car and speeding off.
“Was it something I said?” He asked as Dylan
grabbed her bags and started walking with him to the tarmac.
“No it’s who you are.” Dylan grinned at him.
“Ah.” He nodded, “I see.”
Dom saw them approaching and groaned, “Aw
fuck.” He ran up to them, “Dylan! Are you okay? Do you need a napkin or
something?” He asked as he felt her forehead.
She smacked his hand away; “I’m fine what the
hell’s wrong with you?” She could feel him looking at her from the group Dom
had left; forcing herself not to look there she glared at her employer.
He raised an eyebrow at her, “You don’t know
who you’re walking with?”
She looked from one guy to the other, “Orlando
Bloom Dom, you’re the one who worked with him, don’t you know him?” Orlando
chuckled beside her.
“I know him! But come on aren’t you going to
like paw all over him?” He grabbed at Orlando who smacked him away.
“Fuck off Dom.” He muttered.
Dylan laughed, “What kind of professional would
I be if I pawed at your friend, honestly Dom.” She looked at Orlando, “You
wouldn’t happen to know where we drop this stuff off do you?” She indicated her
bags.
He glanced around then waved at someone, “Over
there, I’ll take it for you.” He reached for her bag before she could protest,
“Nice to meet you Dylan.” He smiled.
She smiled back, “Thanks Orlando, nice to meet
you too.”
Dom stared at her as his friend walked away,
“Are you sure you’re female?” He asked.
“Yes Dom!” She was exasperated; “I can
appreciate an attractive male without acting like a drooling dog. Honestly,
what kind of faith do you have in me?”
“More as time goes on.” He finally smiled then
grabbed her hand, “Come meet the rest of the hobbits.” His eyes were
mischievous.
‘Damn.’ It had to happen eventually. She supposed
it was better that it was sooner than later. Dom was still talking, “This is
Billy, Torrie, Sean, Todd, Kyle, and…” He paused.
She shook the hand of each respective person
but kept going even when Dom paused, “Elijah.” She took his hand and shook it,
hoping he couldn’t tell how nervous she was.
“Hi Dylan.” He returned the handshake and
smiled, “It’s good to see you again.”
Damn him and those expressive fucking eyes!
“Uh, you too.” She managed, had he been that sexy the last time she saw him? Oh
dear her heart was rushing too much blood through her body; she was feeling
rather warm in the morning air and quite uncomfortable.
Torrie was Billy’s cousin and had been elated
that Dom’s assistant was going to be a girl too. She also knew about the
situation because her cousin could never keep his mouth shut, “I’m thrilled to
have another girl around.” She said, “Have you had a look at the Wellington
schedule?”
Dylan pulled her hand, rather reluctantly, from
Elijah and looked over at the woman, “I was mulling over it last night, and I
did have some questions.”
“Well love you’re in luck. I’ve done this
before and wherever Pippin goes Merry is not far behind.”
Breathing a sigh of relief and deciding she’d
really like this Torrie person she smiled, “So I’ve been told. You wouldn’t
mind sharing any secrets with me would you?”
Torrie laughed and grabbed Dylan’s hand, “Girl
we’ve got enough hours on this plane…” She winked at her cousin, “I’ll give you
more information than you know what to do with.” She pulled Dylan away from the
group of guys.
“Hey Todd you don’t by any chance have a copy…”
Kyle asked.
Sean’s assistant groaned, “Yeah, yeah, come
on.”
“That was her?” Sean asked once they left,
“She’s gorgeous.”
“I’m aware of that thanks.” Elijah said
somewhat glumly.
“I still don’t get it.” Dom muttered, “She was
fine with Orli.”
Billy laughed and looped an arm around his
friend’s shoulders, “Not all woman act campy around him.”
“Yes they do!” Dom insisted, “It’s just she’s
so moony over Elwood here that her vision is blurred.”
Elijah shook his head and headed over to plane,
“Shut up Dom.”
Dylan added the new information Torrie had
given her to her schedule and clicked save. She decided to quickly check her
email while she was at it. She laughed at the anticipated email from Emma. I’m
a fucking moron…call me. Em.
She should have been tired after sitting on a
plane for a good 18 hours, but she was too energized to sleep. She’s slept
about three quarters of the time anyway. The other time she spent talking to
Torrie, Todd and Kyle about the junket. Apparently sometimes the hobbits were
going to be interviewed all together, although most of the time Sean and Elijah
would be off with Andy Serkis. Dylan had breathed a sigh of relief when she
heard that, for the majority of the time she was working it would be with Dom,
Billy and Torrie. She picked up the hotel phone and dialled out.
“Dylan!”
“Hey Em.” She chuckled, “What happened to
stalking his elf flesh?”
“Shut up, did he say anything?”
“Only that he thought it was something he said
that made you rush off. I reassured him it wasn’t him, so you’re good.”
“I can’t believe I didn’t say anything!” Emma
whined, “He just took my by surprise, like fuck he really is that hot in real
life!”
“Yeah I guess he is.” Dylan flopped onto the
large bed and turned on the TV, she flipped through the channels on mute
feeling slightly restless.
“So did you see him?”
“About four seconds after you left.”
“Really? What happened?”
“He said hi and that it was nice to see me
again. All I could do was say ‘uh you too’. If you think you’re a moron, I’m a
first class one Em.” Dylan groaned, “I couldn’t have acted more enamoured with
him if I tried.”
“I don’t think it was that bad D.”
“Maybe not in action but man my hormones went
on overdrive.”
“He is a sexy little guy isn’t he?”
“You have no idea Em, no fucking clue, I swear
it was indecent what I wanted to do to him on that tarmac. What the hell is
wrong with me? I never act like this.”
“It seems he’s found a button on you Dylan.”
Emma laughed, “An Elijah only button.”
“Whatever the hell it is it’s going to drive me
insane.”
“Where is he now?”
“Probably out with the other hobbits.” Dylan
said with a shrug, “Dom said something about checking out a local pub or club
or something.” Just then there was a knock on her door.
“Why aren’t you with them?” Emma was asking.
“One sec Em…” Dylan put the phone on the bed
and went to the door. She had to look through the peephole twice to make sure
she wasn’t seeing things. Slowly she opened the door, “H-hi.” She said.
He tilted his head to the side while scratching
the back of his neck and looked at her, “I have no idea what I’m doing here.”
He said. (*sidenote* click here

She stepped aside to let him in, “Just give me
a minute I’m on the phone.” She said having no idea why her heart always sped up
whenever he was within three feet of her.
He nodded and slowly walked passed her, “Okay.”
She shut the door and tried to remember how to
breathe. Picking up the phone again she inhaled, “Um Em.”
“Yeah who was that? Room service?” Her friend
asked.
Elijah decided to go to the window. He grasped
his hands behind him and tried to take in the view outside. “N-not exactly.” He
heard Dylan say. He turned to her and attempted a smile.
She returned it with a tentative smile of her
own. Emma was confused, “Well then who was it?”
“I’ll call you tomorrow Em.” Dylan said
instead.
“Fuck me it’s him isn’t it?”
“Have a good night.”
Emma laughed, “I’d say the same to you but I’m
going to assume you will.”
“Bye.” Dylan said and hung up, “Sooo, umm is
there something I can help you with?” He didn’t say anything just slowly
approached her. When he was about a foot in front of her he stopped and just
regarded her silently. “What are you doing?” She practically whispered trying
to get her heart to get out of her throat.
“Waiting.” He rubbed his chin lightly but
didn’t move just watched her.
‘Aww fuck it.’ She thought before putting a
hand to his face and placing her lips on his. She found that she couldn’t
control herself around him and took pleasure in reminding herself how much she
had enjoyed that night two years ago. He followed her lead rather surprised
that she was being so aggressive. He didn’t care though and hoped this time
she’d still be there when he woke up.
