The Old Bookstore
Searching through the old bookstore,
Where volumes held their precious lore,
I came upon a wondrous find,
Hidden on a shelf behind
Some how to books on DIY,
I plucked it from the shelf so high.
I opened carefully to see,
Songs and verse of sheer beauty.
Emotions of "A Lonely Man",
The search for self in "Who I Am",
Romance and love tear at the heart,
Of tales of lovers kept apart.
Passions flame "Invade Your Dreams",
Then sadness in "My Heart" it seems,
"The Search For Truth" goes on and on,
"Kissed by the Moon", a journey done.
Another journey, moonlight beams,
In "Ageless Hearts", on stardust dreams.
As tears from eyes begin to fall,
I read the poems one and all,
And there in the dust on the very last page,
Penned with style from a bygone age,
A signature you could barely see,
Simply said...Written by...Ricky...
