Cave of Wonders |
Standing on the cliff side, Looking down into the waves, Mesmerized by ebb and flow, I spy a secluded cave. |
I wander along the shoreline, See the entrance hidden well, Was it treasure held inside, Or perhaps the gates of hell. |
I stepped into the entrance, Heard the crashing of the waves, Echoing through the vastness, Of this strange and eerie cave. |
This place, expected to be dark Was lit by mystic light. Shadows danced on cold stone walls, Beckoned to my sight. |
The cavernous room beheld within, Filled mind with awe and wonder. In the centre burned a fire of blue, Its flames they roared with thunder. |
Edged closer to this wondrous sight I should have felt its heat. This fire burned with ice cold flames That reached out, my hand to meet. |
Spiraling from its centre Rose a fountain crystal clear The cascading water whispered I moved closer, so I could hear. |
I took one step, then I took two, Now stood by fire side The flames reached out and pulled me in And held me there inside |
The cold flames danced upon my skin, I felt no fear at all. The whispered words now clear to me, I?d answered to their call. |
An ancient race had summoned this, To cleanse the heart and soul. I stepped from flame, renewed, reborn, From this time on made whole. |
I left the cave as daylight dawned, And walked along the beach. And marvelled at the rising Sun, And turned to see its shadow reach |
The cave that brought me life anew, That gave my heart new song. Then frozen to the spot was I, To see, the cave, had gone.. |
