Dear All,
Greetings!

As yet another week passed by, there have been many developments that are sure to help us in reaching our goal.

A short update on the activity of all our teams...

Mumbai: We are in the process of building our first school (a study room) at Pada. Work is going on at a fast pace. The best part of it is that the community got involved in this activity and took care of 50% of the expenses. The Borivali classes are going great as usual. We are also seeking to work in an old age home in Belapur.

Pune: Our team has come up with the wonderful ways to conduct painting competitions for the children at Aaple Ghar. There would be one volunteer (who is new to Aaple Ghar) for each kid and each such pair forms a team to take part in the competition. The interesting point here is that the volunteer would get a chance to work closely with the child and have good interaction. This would also introduce this orphanage and kind of work we do, to 21 new volunteers.

Hyderabad: With the team strength rising, we aim to reach young minds in college students and motivate them into involving themselves in social activities.

Chennai: The team is as usual busy with a variety of activities. We are helping a young lady, who met with an accident, by bearing a part of her surgery expenses. We are also working on conducting a medical camp.

Bangalore: Children at Kidwai are being taken care of well, by our team members. We are joining hands with IndiaVision2020 to sponsor the salary of the teacher to teach the kids. We would also be getting clothes for the children, apart from taking care of some of their basic needs.

Ahmedabad: Ashutosh has taken lead to start our team activities. If you know any one who would be interested to join him, please ask him/her to contact [email protected]

This week we have got beautiful pictures of the Pune and the Chennai teams to share with you all. Please visit the Aaple Ghar, Pune and Weekend Classes, Chennai to have a look.

Now, a few thoughts on the recent happenings...

With the news from the centre about the likely increase of oil prices, it would be the poor lot of the country who would be most affected. Though as individuals, we may not have a say on it, as responsible citizens we should conserve oil and gas in every possible way.

The recent elections in a few states have resulted in change of government. We hope that the new governments that are being formed focus on growth and development.

Jai Hind!!!

Madhuri now addressed herself to a task. She set to work to see other girls' wrists stripped bare. Her efforts met with indifferent success.

Will God, however, judge her from the outcome of her attempt? He has said, in truth: "Do your work; leave the result entirely to Me."

For her part, Madhuri did her "work," not for show but for the satisfaction of the great atman and inhabiting her little frame.

After exhorting Madhuri and Pushpa to wear Khadi and ply the spinning-wheel and after securing a promise from the ladies of the family in regard to both, I left all admiration in my heart for Madhuri and Pushpa.

If we do not get swaraj this very year, even through the sacrifice of such innocent ones, how great must have been the burden of sin accumulated by us, the so-called elders!

May God ever send into the world children like Madhuri and Pushpa! Let us, men and women alike, salute the stainless atmans of such children and learn from them.

I have written down this conversation thirty hours after it took place. I have reproduced it as well as I remember it. Even the children's words are given as they were actually spoken, without any embellishment. I noted all the time that they spoke faultlessly.
