| Camiria, the land of the fire people, was established by Akora Feursonne. His descendants were overthrown later by a related family, the Hohns. The youngest heir was allowed to live, but was forced to renounce his claim for himself and all future children. As the years progressed the Camirians began to develope an army that rivals any on the planet. They military was strict, but provided the citizens a country free fear of invasion. But the magic of thought, and the power of will was also a great strength for Camiria. They started a school dedicated to the pursuit of magical arts. They declared that the school was open to all people, from all lands, and that the scholars and students who attended it were loyal only to the knowledge that they sought. Camiria is ruled by a King. But the King relies on a council to help him make decisions. The council is composed of the Crown Prince, the highest general in the army, the speaker for the Commerce guild and a master magician pledged to the Camirain people. The council advices the King, but he has all the power and make all the final decisions. One of the darkest things in Camirian society, is the fact that slavery is common place. A slave is either born into slavery, or sold as a way to repay debts. Once a person is a slave there is nearly no way for them to be released. Tradionally the only method is in the Pits. The Pits are fights between slaves. These fights bring money and prestege to the owners, and next to nothing to the slaves. The fights range from first blood to death matches, the more intense the fight, the more money and honor. Every year there is a tournament held to honor the Hohn family. The contestants battle each other in a fight to the death. The tournament usually lasts a week, and more than 500 slaves are entered. At the end of the matches the single survivor is given his freedom, and allowed to walk away a free man. But many more die in the darkness of slavery |
