| After I visited 2 speedercollections during my vacation in 2002. I found out that I had to have my own Narrow Gauge speeder. First I made myself a wishlist of what the speeder had to have to be succesful in service | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After some calculations on the design I started with the first drawings of the car (see below left) the speeder will give ample accomodation for a driver and 3 pax. The engine will be mounted unde the frontbench with a chaindrive to the rear axle. Braking will be featured by a diskbrake on the rearaxle. This doesn't look very authentic but is very handy because the wheels will be regaugeable between 600 and 760mm gauge | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 15-02-2004: Today I fitted the tank and de junctionbox on my speeder. I also installed most of the wiring. The tank was picked up cheap from Ebay she was sold as a spare tank for a Sachs stationairy engine. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 15-02-2004: On the backrest of the rear seat I will fit a small toolbox. I have several of these steel boxes who where originally first aid kits used in the former German Democratic Republic. A spraycan with black paint did the rest | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 10-04-2003: A giant step forwards was taken in the building of my speeder. With the big help of one of my fathers friend today we build the frame, the benches and the enginemounts. | 12-02-2003: Save driving starts with save breaking. This diskbrake is one normally used on a mopedscooter. It will provide more than adequate brakingpower to stop my speeder. This where the last parts to be bought before the construction of the frame can take place. So this will be the next step. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 20-01-2003: To check the measurements of the design I have build a wooden 1:1 scalemodel of my speeder. Then I found out that several of them had to be changed to fit dte passengers in. The overall length grew some 10 centimeters and also the seathight and the bachresthight needed to be raised. Now final drawing will be made and the the steel frame can than be welded by a good friend of my father who is a professional welder. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 07-01-2003: In the meantime the engine is ready after an extensive overhaul. The piston, driveshaft, bearings and all the oilseals needed replacement. This engine was used in the past to power a 3 wheel transport moped. A very popular transporter during the 60's and 70's here in Holland | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Here a picture of the wheels that will be fitted to the speeder. They where originally fitted to a drywaggon in use at brickworks. They have an extreme wide wheelflange. That because the wheels where not ony to run on track but also on the street..
