And so Destynalia Dragonscale was laid to rest, and the battles of the war did frenzy between Dragonscale and the Undead. Entire volumes could be filled with tales of that war's deeds, both glorious and foul. Heartbroken and battle weary, Steven found solace in the company of Duchess Winnowill Orbarthar, of Verus Gloria, Nation of Saga, wife of Valaran Orbarthar. Though many false rumors were spread about their relationship, Winnowill was going through great pain in her marriage and thus found solace in the company of Steven as well. Though refused a divorce by her husband, Winnowill did seek the Tribubal who annulled the vows taken between the two. Lord Marshall Steven Dragonscale and Duchess Winnowill Quest fell madly in love. Many changes came to the Nation of Dragonscale during these times of conflict, Stevens long lost brother Luthiean returned, Gwineth and Dextan Stoneheart the most trusted and loyal to Dragonscale built the sister city of Stoneheart, and Castle Dragonscale was constructed. As well, Lord Marshall Steven Dragonscale received his Coronation to be King, and soon after Steven and Winnowill were wed and Dragonscale now had a Queen. During these times many changes happened to the lands of Mourning as well. The feared Undead lords in a surprising decree ended the dreaded Unholy Alliance and the old bones returned to their tombs and graves to become dormant. The war continued though, for Dragonscale could not rest against the murderers of their first Queen, the guild once subbed to the Undead lords, the Cohorts of Chaos. In recent days the alliance had great results in the battle against the Cohorts, bringing many of the buildings and defense to rubble. In a grand gesture, for all the suffering the people of Dragonscale had suffered at the hands of the Cohorts, the allying guilds gave the honor of placing bane to the Royal Family of Dragonscale. And soon after, the Cohorts of Chaos city of Grief fell. There was great rejoice through the lands, but it was soon apparent that the Cohorts had found others to do their bidding, the mind plagued, insane madmen of the Order of the Pink Pansies. Dragons Keep was soon swarmed by enemy, blaming Dragonscale for the fall of Grief, they raped, pillaged and burned. Days on end the battles continued, wave after wave they came and despite the best efforts of Dragonscale and its closest allies after the bane released its magics on the tree once more... Dragons Keep fell. A great sacrifice had been made with the loss of the Keep. Surviving citizenry and loyal to the crown made a new home at Castle Dragonscale. New forges were built, new trade established. The war appeared over, and once again things seemed at peace. Steven and Winnowill Dragonscale stand in each others arms, gazing up at the new sky amazed. Things have changed so suddenly, so drastically in a single day. It is this new land mass that is most intriguing for it hits so close to home. Steven slides the thin cloth of the robe off Winnowills shoulder, until he can see her tiny birthmark. To him it looks just like the shape of the land mass of the new Chaos Isle. They both shudder at the thought. Apprehension and dread grips them both. For many days Winnowill has thought the Dark Portal in the Barrowlands held the answers, but it is truly broke and corrupted and holds none. Now things are clear, it is this new land that holds the answers of questions that run so deep. Yet where should they start?
